While your kindergarteners are learning Spanish/Mandarin/French alphabet and letters, it is important for them to also know the English letters and sounds. Here is a video for them (and you) that can help.

HELP needed. Did I sign correctly? Hello I am a kindergarten teacher that uses sign language to help students learn their letter sounds. I made a YouTube video to share but I didn't know how to sign Narwhal Whale, there is a discrepancy on Seal and I cannot find how to sign Yak, not fingerspelling. My sister even says that the sign I used for umbrella bird looks inappropriate. Anything that anyone can tell me will help before I actually advertise the video. My mission is to help parents prepare their kids before they begin kindergarten.

Hi I am a kindergarten teacher and I made a video for students to learn letter sounds using sign language. My mission is that students come into kindergarten prepared. This is the first in a series.

I have been reworking a strategy so that students can become independent readers of complex text, using the Common Core as my base. The strategy is called TPQ DR. ACES and I think it belongs in the category of Annotating Text but maybe it is more than that. It encourages students to think about the central idea, to reread, to answer TDQs and Cite Evidence. Plus think about Purpose and Structure. Can you please look it over and tell me if you agree?
