Here is the full length video of our balloon launch. I have tried to line up the footage as best as possible to create a panoramic feel. Only one camera survived to the burst. I hope to be able to create an edited version in the near future.

Points of interest in the video: Balloon launch at 29:30. Church bells audible at 31:00 and balloon burst at 2:01:28

And some more pictures, with some snapshots from (almost) space!

Here are three short clips from one of the cameras in the payload box during our balloon launch.  In the third clip, you can hear the balloon pop and see parts of the balloon fly off.

Here's a short video from the point of view of the payload.  We've finished prepping the payload box with cameras, gps tracker, etc., and attaching it to the balloon.  Finally, we let go!

Here's the path the balloon took.  The altitude is in meters.  According to the data, the balloon reached 12093 meters (39675 feet or 7.5 miles)!  We officially reached the stratosphere.

As part of the payload we will use an easyacc power bank that allows us to charge three GoPros during the flight. The small GPS tracker will help us keep track of the location ... as long as there is a cell phone signal.

Pastor Jan reports he has received the balloon.  Waiting on authorization from the German FAA for us to launch this Easter Sunday.  Erin measured the assembly so we could send the data to Jan for the forms.  We have to modify the GPS transmitter; we learned that a 900mhz transmitter is not authorized for use in Germany :^(    We'll be using a different GPS tracker, and use the existing GPS unit to record position data along with the weather data.

Here's a video from a test drop we did today.  I haven't calculated the descent rate yet, but it looks good to me.  The video on the left is from the gopro mounted in the capsule.  The video on the right is from an iphone on the ground.  Google earth with kml from the capture of the onboard GPS:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B62KD17CIU6oTEQ3NUVycTdDNjQ/edit?usp=sharing
