It is old news, but Synapse's backend was used for making this beautiful Indicator for Elementary OS.

Help needed
Synapse - the rockstar launcher for Linux Desktop has not been maintained for a long time. The main developers don't have enough time to keep it in shape.
The major issue is that Synapse still uses GTK2 and has lot of custom widgets which is the secret recipe for its beautiful looks. These custom widgets need to be ported to GTK3.
We need help from people who can migrate Synapse to GTK3. Either you can start your work from lp:synapse-project or base your work over two prior attempts
1) lp:~zeitgeist/synapse-project/gtk3-port
2) lp:~tombeckmann/synapse-project/gtk3-port

GNOME Do is already dead. Let's make sure Synapse doesn't have the same story. Please let us know if you wish to help.

Our end goal is trying to scale the engine to be able to handle a few billion events just as fast as it can handle a few hundred thousand. While we are not there yet we managed to have some pretty nice stable results for the first iteration.

A lot of results show more than 100% speed enhancement. In other words a lot of queries from our standard benchmarks now consume more than 50% less time to execute.

Now you can disable sending error reports to Canonical. Will be available to Precise users in a day or two

(This feature is Ubuntu specific, so available only in Precise)

+Nekhelesh Ramananthan Sadly that needs a user interface freeze exception. Too less time, too much work to do.

If you cannot find Activity Log Manager in Precise, install "activity-log-manager-control-center" package

Then open "System Setting" from dash and look for "Privacy" icon. There are some more small issues with the application which will be fixed in a few days.

Please report all the bugs at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/activity-log-manager/+filebug

Antoine, that sounds like a good proposal. The API allows to extract such information. I will see what all can be done. Maybe it will be the part of zeitgeist-explorer tool in the future.

Please note that this is our developer tool and not meant for end-users

My current work for +The Zeitgeist Project which is a wireshark like tool where you can view your zeitgeist activity in real time. Yes, you can even filter your event stream.

On the left side you can the filters and the right pane contains the Events fetched. Clicking on each even shows up the event detail. The monitoring can be started or stopped using that Start and Stop button.
You can use the [+] and [-] button below to add more filters and can have multiple filters running at the same time

Hopefully this would be very beneficial for the developers of of +Ubuntu Unity and +elementary - two of our biggest users. This is just a teaser. Will keep everyone posted.

Edit: This is a developer tool
