I needed to have new brakes pads and fluid put in my car. It's a very simple thing to have done. A friend of mine and myself had checked the car ourselves and found only pads & fluid we're needed, But we didn't have all the tools to do the repairs. Looking for easy way out I had my wife call this location to have them do it quickly. Upon arriving to the location I'm greeted by the Manager Scott Johnson. He asks for my information and prints me a quote to sign which states only "brake light". I tell that I only needed new brakes pads on the front and some brake fluid then I asked for a new quote to be printed(I'm entitled to this by law in Ohio) he then quickly wrote on the existing quote "1 Brakes pads + fluid" and I asked the estimated cost and he replied "I haven't even looked at it" I'm clearly frustrated by now and starting to feel a bit unease about Mr. Johnson intentions are to fix what's wrong or make as much money as possible. Now I ask him what the cost for the fluid and brake pads were and he says $120.00 plus taxes and then I proceed to ask several questions about the type, lifetime and prices on the brakes. I was presented with a brick wall once again he hadn't even looked at it! What is there to look at? I'm not coming for a diagnostic check. I don't want an inspection of my car I want my brake pads and fluid put in. I stayed cool gave him my keys and sat down, I began to google the cost of brake pads for my car found that they only cost about $50.00 for some the best pads on the market. I became very suspicious now and wanted a new estimate printed with a price on it! I asked Mr. Johnson for this and he refused by saying the written estimate without a price on it would be fine and that he would figure out what was going on. I was done and asked for my keys back. Mr. Johnson didn't even try to stop me. I work in customer service and this is not how you treat customers. My demands we're reasonable and with the bounds of policy. I wasn't rude and didn't use foul language at any point. You don't treat customers this way. I understand that I'm not a car expert but I also know my rights. I'm also not stupid and know how to use the internet and youtube. Mr. Scott Johnson is not providing the Midas name that I had came to know. I want something done about him. I used to love this location and now I can't trust them at all. I will be posting, emailing and calling every midas contact and complaint center including the BBB. He has already racked some bad reviews on the Facebook page for the location as well. People like this are hurting your guys business he needs to be retrained on how to deal with customers. I am available in the daytime mostly call, email or text. I want this problem solved for myself and everyone who visits this location. Midas is better than this and I want to continue my business with the company when needed.
