Ever wonder what it's like to write a novel?
Ever wonder what goes on in your favorite author's brain?

Since I just released The End Diary, I took some time to show you exactly what it's like to write a novel. It's a "real" dramatization into the author mind.

Oh, and you'll get to meet Ferdinand!

Happy reading!

If you guys haven't checked out In a Blue Moon yet, it's still being called awesome (in, you know, more words than that). This fantastic review by +Gina R is making me blush.

Now to finish writing that sequel ;)

This week on YA Gets Real the main character gets to the tower just in time to sacrifice herself for the sake of Madison Patrick. But, to everyone's dismay, the MC doesn't do what everyone else thinks she should do.

This week on YA Gets Real, the characters have to choose between saving the world and their grades. Because school doesn't stop for the supernatural.

Today I discuss politics and the echo chamber that surrounds us. It's a huge deviation from my typical writerly posts, but it needs to be said. We need more open conversations. We need more discussion. We need more respect. We're never going to navigate this forest if we're yelling at each other. We're never going to get anywhere that way.

I did my first ever book reading! Today, I featured Hipstopia, because creating a society where everyone is the same (even one full of hipsters) is a terrible idea.

Happy reading!

Checked health insurance's website. Booked an appointment for a doctor in my network.
Went to the doctor. Was told they weren't in network.
Called my health insurance. Was told the doctor is "definitely in network."
Went to doctor. Was told they weren't in network because the insurance hasn't ever paid them as in network in the past.

Healthcare in the United States is pretty much dealing with two toddlers who have just discovered they can yell "ARE TOO" and "ARE NOT" as perfectly acceptable responses in order to win an argument.

"Yes, you are!"
"No, I'm not!"
"Are too!"
"Are not!"

In conclusion: I still haven't seen a doctor and have no idea when I'll be able to and also have no clue which doctors are actually in my network.

Thumbs up privatized healthcare industry, thumbs up.
