Zero spoilers.

Star Wars is good.  It will make you feel things.  Go watch it.

I went to bed happy.

This is eerily relevant. I'm disappointed in a lot of Americans right now. In my opinion, one of the best ways to help stop the problems we're facing with Daesh/IS and such groups is to take in and integrate refugees into our country and educate our population about them and their culture. Radical Islamist groups are trying to put a wedge between non-Muslims and moderate Muslims so that moderates will feel pressured to become more radical in response. A lot of Americans are falling for it.

I do, by the way, want to salute all the many men and women who fought and suffered for many years to bring us to this historic moment in the United States where gay marriage is now universal.

Moreso, I want to highlight this moment as a victory for peace and reason.  There were no riots for marriage equality.  There were no terrorists.  There were no wars.  We got here by winning hearts and minds--plus a crap ton of legal and political battles.

I will not tell you that there is never a just cause for violence, but the sword is not a thing to take lightly.  Violence breeds contempt far too easily, as it coerces rather than persuades.  It is a tool of life and death, a tool of last resorts, and also a tool of tyranny.

We did the right thing.  We did it the right way.  And I am proud to be an American today.

I see it as a symptom and not a cure, but perhaps we can not find agreement here.

These guys modeled Facebook adoption as a disease, using MySpace as a case study.  They predict rapid "recovery" within the next few years.  Not sure how valid that prediction is, but it's pretty funny.
Abstract: The last decade has seen the rise of immense online social networks (OSNs) such as MySpace and Facebook. In this paper we use epidemiological models to explain user adoption and abandonment of OSNs, where adoption is analogous to infection and abandonment is analogous to recovery.

Seattle is a contender!
Sci-Fi Hotel founder Andy Davies teams up with 'Alien' artist H.R. Giger to open a hotel bar, yet where it will land is still unknown. Read this article by Bonnie Burton on CNET.

I'm glad you got away to feed your soul . It doesn't look like you went far as the picture looks like somewhere around the San Juan Islands.

As far as cinematic portrayals of hacking go, House of Cards actually does a pretty good job.

But here's an Easter egg.

(It's an xkcd reference, for anyone who doesn't get it.)
