Hi there everyone!  Wuz up!!

So here is the quick and dirty run down of me...

I am an IT junkie that spends most of each day either on my computer at work, computer or laptop at home, Motorola Xoom tablet or cell phone.  I am completely tethered to the digital world we call the internet and sometimes find it hard to let go and just relax.

When I finally do it's probably to chill out at home and spend time with my two awesome and wonderful children.

I am really into sports.  I pay the most attention to professional football and my favorite team the Philadelphia Eagles.  I do follow and root for the home team Miami Dolphins but will only do so as long as they're not playing the Eagles. :-P  Baseball is the next sport I pay attention to the most in which I follow the Philadelphia Phillies.  The exception in baseball is that I don't follow or root for the home team.  I'm sure that's mostly due to the fact that they are in the same division as the Phillies.  I pretty much hope the Marlins do bad all the time.  LOL.

Another area of interest for me is auto racing.  I don't really like NASCAR too much.  I'll watch it if it's on somewhere I'm at, but I prefer watching the American Le Mans Series and similar styles.

I like all types of music (mostly) but find myself listening more to metal, alternative and electronic.  Some of my favorites are Metallica, Guns and Roses, Soundgarden, Rage Against The Machine, Ozzy Osbourne, Staind, Green Day, The Offspring, etc. in that side and DJ Icey, DJ Systemattic, DJ Rob-E, DJ Keoki in the electronic side.

I love ice cream.  Just thought I would throw that out there.

Time-lapse video of driving trip from Seattle to Maine in 7 days

I came across this video recently which is a time-lapse of the person driving from Seattle, WA to Maine. The video itself was pretty cool but the fact that a script was written to have the Droid X take a picture every 90 seconds was the pudding on the cake. Totally Awesome!

I love reading stories of ordinary people that when going about their daily lives and presented the need to stop and help another citizen they do just that. Far too often, especially in the area I live, people will just keep on walking or driving by and not even think twice about it. Although I don't know the final condition of the motorist focused in this story and video, I know he is in a lot better condition due to the selfless help of those around the area that stopped what they were doing to rush and help him. Kudos to them!

I saw this last night as well, too freaking cool. I'm a huge Johnny Cash fan so this really took my breath away.

I've been waiting and waiting for the official news of when the Samsung Galaxy S II will be released. Well here it is, and it actually couldn't have got much closer to a perfect time for me. It apparently will begin to be sold at AT&T just 1 day after my birthday. SWEET! Happy Birthday to me. :-)

So I came across one of these verification badges recently when adding someone to one of my circles (don't remember who it was at the moment) and thought to myself "is this one of those badges that I read Google might be doing?" Well I guess it was.

I think this is an absolute necessity, not so much for us, the users adding the people, but for the people that we're adding. I believe it will provide more high profile people the confidence of joining this service by knowing that the information they post can be authenticated as had been generated by them and not from some idiot that thinks it will be funny to create a false account and post inaccurate, obscene or harmful material.

I'm glad to see it's finally rolling out. Yet another kudos for the Google team.

Not sure whether +Dolly Parton is actually that Dolly Parton?

We’re starting to roll out verification badges on profiles so you can be sure the person you’re adding to a circle is who they claim to be. Check out the video below (or my profile) to see what these verification badges look like.

For now, we’re focused on verifying public figures, celebrities, and people who have been added to a large number of Circles, but we’re working on expanding this to more folks.

Thanks again for sending in your feedback!

Video Transcript

Many celebrities and public figures are joining Google+, and if you’re like me, you want to be sure the person you’re adding to a circle is really who they claim to be.

Today, I’m happy to announce that we’re starting to roll out verification badges on profiles.

When you visit the profile of a celebrity or public figure, you’ll see a verification badge next to their profile name. This will help you easily determine which profiles are owned by real, verified people.

Here’s an example: In my profile on the top right, you’ll see a grey checkmark next to my name. When you mouse over it, you’ll see that this is a “verified name”.

You might be wondering how to verify your own name on Google+. For now, we’re focused on verifying public figures, celebrities, and people who have been added to a large number of Circles...but keep in mind that this is just the beginning. We’re working on expanding this to include more people in the future, so hang tight!

We hope this improvement helps you feel more comfortable adding people to your circles. Thanks for listening, I’ll see you on Google+!

I’m super excited about how the Google+ project brings the richness and nuance of real life sharing to software, and today we’re announcing our first step towards bringing this to your apps as well by launching the Google+ public data APIs.

These APIs allow you to retrieve the public profile information and public posts of the Google+ users, and they lay the foundation for us to build on together - Nothing great is ever built in a vacuum so I’m excited to start the conversation about what the Google+ platform should look like.

Please follow the link to the blog post to find out what exactly we’re launching and you can find the technical details on how to use this on our new developer site at

I’d also like to take a moment to introduce my team who will be joining me on working with our developer community (ie: you!) and answering any questions you may have about the Google+ platform on our discussion forums.

We’ll all also be doing a bunch of Hangouts over the next few days and beyond to talk to you directly and hear what you think of the +Platform as well as helping with any coding questions you may have, so make sure to add them to your Google+ developers circle!
