Your drawer sounds just like one I have. That 1975 diet sounds very familiar, and yes it was Nimble bread, I remember eating it. what was I thinking about. Through out my life I'm sure I've tried every diet there is. Now I just cut down on all the things I know are naughty, but I love. Since living in France it's become even harder, as there are so many wonderful cheeses and one can't not have a nice bottle of red wine to drink with the cheese,. Then French bread is so morei-sh. so all in all I'm on a loser before the days starts. how does that no bake cheese cake recipe firm up without any gelatine, is it the way lemon juice reacting with the cream ? Please let me know Daphne, as I'd love to make it, for this Sunday, as we are going to our daughters  and I've promised to make the dessert. Her French husband had a restaurant and he makes a great baked cheese cake, so I'd like to show him your quick no bake version.
Good Morning to you, I wonder, are you like me? Do you have a drawer in your kitchen where random items, spend their lives, for a period of time? The one drawer, where bits and bobs end up. You know the sort of thing,...

I really enjoyed seeing all these lovely pencil sketches. We are off to Ile de Re next week for a short break, It's many years since we were there, just on a day visit during a nights stop in La Rochelle, So I'm really looking forward to this visit we have booked into St Martin for a few nights then who knows,  it will depend on weather. I hope to do a few water colour sketches , I haven't  put brush to paper for sometime, I've been too busy in the garden on my Rose bed project. Enjoy your visit back to the UK.
Having celebrated 10 years of camping I thought you might like to see where we went for our first outing in our mobile home. We decided to go down the west coast of France and into Spain, hoping to get as far as Galicia, th...

Like the idea of stacked layers made with left overs and store cupboard things. Not a lover of pearl barley, do you think it would work with Risotto rice or Quinoa ? Glad you enjoyed your birthday. I made a post on your facebook.page

Glad to see you back, I can understand you wanting to get out in the garden. Wait a little ,  just potter for a while.  Get your self fighting fit first.
Love that china cup and saucer, so pretty.
Good Morning to you, Well I never, I really did not think I would be away from you for so long. Yes, I was unwell, but when I first fell ill, I thought to myself, give it a week or so and I will be back on my feet ag...

Looks like you had a great mini break. I have been once ,a long time ago when we lived near Southampton and our children were small. I can't remember much about it. I definitely did not see those wonderful thatched cottages. I can remember it rained the whole day we there, so with two young children it was hard to find things to do. we were away this week on the Il de Re off the La Rochelle coast, had a wonderful time and enjoyed some nice weather. Apparently it had  rained at home from the day we left and the nearer we got to home on our return we met the rain.
Good Evening to you, .... and where was I last week? Well I shall tell you, I left the very cold North East of England to visit the much warmer, Isle of Wight. We decided to enjoy a mini break and visit the Isle of ...

Love, love, love, that chair,. I want one.  Hope you manage to get it. It's the style that would fit into any  theme.
I remember the 1st tortilla wrap I ate , half of it ended up down the front of my new tea shirt.... it's always something new I spill on. I have so many stained tops, that even 'Vanish ' can't remove the stain.from. Great idea to wrap it in grease-proof paper, and roll it before tackling to eat it. I use kitchen paper but still make a mess, I have learnt not to put too much filling init now. Our generation We were not brought up to eat finger food meals.
Good Morning to you, I have to tell you, my savings plan, for the chair I have my eye on, is going very well. Admittedly it is the first week, but I can honestly say, the only item I have bought this week, is a litre of mi...

What a lovely sketchbook you've made. You're so talented.
Still re-recuperating from  a chest infection/virus thing. I've not done very much over the Easter holiday, looking forward to some warmer sunny days.
I hope you've all had a happy Easter, I haven't done a lot of artwork this weekend so I thought it was time to show you my new sketchbook, no 35. This photo shows all the ingredients I used to make a map themed sketchbook. ...

How lovely to have you back, your recipe sounds like a good comfort food dish.  I really enjoyed the story about Rose, she sounds just like my Danish daughter- in-laws grandmother. when all the smokers went outside she would join them,  but she smoked strong Marlboro cigarettes, and refused to wear glasses said 'she didn't need them ' but used a magnifying glass to read the daily paper. I am in exact agreement with you about print getting smaller on instructions.Last year when we were away and needed a map in the car for directions I couldn't read the names of the small towns,  so we bought a magnifying glass after great difficulty of finding one,  we could only find it in an opticians here in France and it was really expensive, but well worth not having arguments, because I couldn't read the map. Thanks again Daphne, Lentils and Rice will soon be on the table in our house. Not sure about using brown rice Mr France likes fluffy white rice. I'll cook it and wait for his opinion, he is changing his eating habits as he gets older.
Good Morning to you, Now don't laugh. I'm going to tell you what I recently treated myself to. It wasn't a nice new handbag or a nice pair of shoes.... although either would have been lovely. No, I have become t...
