This summer has been so busy for us in so many ways, I'll be revealing whats happening in our life later. I haven't made a post on my blog for quite some time or even had time to look at what's been happening on blogs I follow. But I saw your portraits on facebook and just had to let you know how wonderful I thought they were. You pencil work is fantastic, achieving such likeness, and a far better technic than the original photo. Congratulations on such wonderful work.
I've had a lovely time this week drawing my middle granddaughter, Stephanie. I was inspired by a photo taken by Rose Jones, a friend of Justine's which depicted Steph wearing one of her beautiful jewellery creations. This i...

Kitchen decorating is so disrupting, I hope it all goes to plan, I have a feeling George being an ex military man will have a plan.
Is this a major kitchen make over, or just a spring cleaning and painting job.
We have just spent the last 2 days cleaning the covered terrace, our summer haven for eating, After the last 2 years of me not being fully able to move furniture, it's only had what I call ' a lick and a promise ' We've bought a new extending table so the old one is now ready to be sawn up, which meant all the outside furniture needed to be properly washed and in some cases scrubbed, All we need now is for it to warm up again, so that we can eat outside.
Good luck with the kitchen painting. Look forward to seeing your post again soon.
Good Morning to you, I just wanted to pop by, to let you know, we are busy decorating at the moment, which means my kitchen will be closed for the next month or so. Have a wonderful few weeks and I will catch ...

love the bag with lots of pockets inside for all your favourite items and also the little make up bag. Lets hope we have some hot weather so you can wear the lovely dress made from the sarongs. You should apply for the ' Sewing Bee'
Last week's episode of the sewing bee was on an international theme and one of the challenges was to make a dress using West African wax print fabrics. If you've ever seen the 'First ladie's detective agency' series on TV yo...

Wonderful sketches you have done to share from your latest trip along the coast. Each one so different depending on the paper you used . You must have enjoyed that task.

How lovely your crochet top is. You are so so talented in so many ways.

Loved the story . i heard that there had been snow over parts of the Uk. you don't expect it so late in the year, from your description I could see you dashing about protecting your precious plants. then poor George having to walk. Well all sounds back to normal now, and I hope the sun that i have seen forecast for you is warming up your garden. Lilac seemed to be a favourite shrub in our parents time, I can remember my father also loved Lilac and planted one in a corner of our small garden. It's a shame it doesn't last very long when cut and brought indoors, but the perfume is lovely. I loved seeing what you have growing in your garden. well done you for growing some Garlic, I don't bother growing vegs. and I can always buy fresh Garlic from our local markets as the sellers come from near and far selling their fresh produce. The yellow flowering shrub you couldn't remember the name of, is Kerria ( Jew's mallow )
I'm relaxing a bit at the moment, as I've over done it, as usual with me I go all out then suffer with aching limbs. i didn't get to make the cheesecake as the meal was called off for another time as my daughter wasn't feeling too well. I'll let you know when i make it. Enjoy the sunshine.
