I have been praying and reading God's Word and would like to share how the LORD has been working in my heart since Sunday. My question to myself after class study in John 27 was, "Sheri - "Do you love ME?", and how am I living in the "Grace" of the LORD, am I "feeding and caring for HIS sheep"?
This morning my devotions led me to 1 Peter, interesting, and after I read the introduction to 1 Peter and then my devotional reading of 1 Peter 1, I prayed and God has led me to this note....
Here is what the LORD has asked me to share:
1 Peter is written by Peter, with our studies of John concluding we are being led into the life of Peter and his relationship with Jesus, the giver of Grace. Peter wrote to Jewish Christians who were experiencing persecution for their faith (also the Gentiles as well). He wrote to comfort them with the hope of eternal life and to encourage them to live holy lives ... how much now in our world and lives do we need to hear this same message of "hope" and how to "endure suffering faithfully" as children of God. Christians everywhere are being misunderstood, ridiculed and harassed by unbelieving friends, employers, and family members. We are not exempt from pain, illness, and terrorism, these catastrophes make us lean on God's grace. Today, as well as in Peter's time we need this message of HOPE.
