Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall Remodel

"You and I know that the Lord is pleased when the Gospel is preached in all its fullness (a beautiful church building not being essential), but unfortunately as we both also know, unchurched people for the most part choose a church not by its message, but by its exterior features."
Pastor David Valleskey, September 1965

This quotation is taken from a letter that the first Pastor of Apostles wrote to the California Mission Board requesting a loan to build Apostles’ first chapel. This fits our situation well today. Outreach continues to be a major focus of Apostles. Our fellowship hall and sanctuary are in almost constant use, and for most visitors, they are the first thing seen.

Last June the congregation approved a proposal that the fellowship hall, kitchen, and sanctuary be remodeled. The thought is to reconfigure the kitchen and fellowship hall to make the space more functional, and to brighten and lighten the entry and sanctuary to make those areas more inviting.

Remodel Notes:

Fellowship hall is enlarged by making it square with the outside walls
Entry to fellowship hall is wider and does not go through the kitchen
Kitchen is larger with access to the fellowship hall and the patio
Nursery is close to both the sanctuary and fellowship hall
Sanctuary and entry have brighter lighting
Required handicapped seating, ramp, and bathrooms installed
