I've been going to Kampai for a long time, since it was called Bansai more than ten years ago.
It is now under new ownership and the quality of the food had declined dramatically.
Eel used to be excellent, now is cheap and nasty. Miso soup was too salty to eat. Lots of frou frou rolls. Where did the tradition go? Extremely sad to see this classic old north valley restaurant ruined like this.
