This is a rare 16mm film shot during the 1970s about folk art in the state of Kansas, directed by Robert Wright. It features segments shot across the state and includes a very rare film on the folk artist Inez Marshall. This is a new dub of the film from a 16mm print discarded by The University of Kansas.

"Old Kickapoo" is a trophy of the Mexican war, but whether it was a gun taken to the war by Gen.- Kearney's Army of the North or was captured from the Mexicans is uncertain.

The first land grants in Upper Louisiana, which included the present State of Kansas, were made at St. Louis and bear the date of April 27, 1766. They were made by the French authorities, although the province had passed into the hands of Spain by the treaty of 1762.
