Are you a developer who is interested in the Internet of Things (IoT)? Would you like to be able to collect and retrieve data from Internet-connected sensors for applications in health, home, government, and industry through network and programming language agnostic RESTful APIs?  Join the AT&T Developer Program for an afternoon coding workshop on the M2X Data Service.  The M2X Data Service is a cloud-based fully managed data storage service for network connected machine-to-machine (M2M) devices. This will be an afternoon of learning and hands-on coding ("lab time"), including working with an Internet-connected sensor.  Bring your laptops and leave with our APIs working from your own M2X account.
This workshop will be taught by AT&T subject matter experts and AT&T Developer Program staff. It is also a great opportunity to network with AT&T and your fellow mobile developers.

The event is free and we will be serving lunch.  If you are an app or device developer working independently or with a company planning or already producing mobile applications and/or IoT devices then this is the event for you. Space is limited so register now.

Find out how carrier APIs from the AT&T Developer Program can benefit you and your app and device strategy. We look forward to meeting you!

Chicago .Net Mobile Developers meetup group   http://www.meetup.com/Chicago-dotNet_Mobile_Developers/

The first meetup is next Thursday, 29th May at 18.00, at West Monroe Partners, 222 West Adams Street, with a presentation by Mike Stonis of Eightbot on 'Building Native iOS, Android & Windows Phone Apps in C# with Xamarin
-  An introduction to developing mobile apps in C#/.Net using Xamarin'

http://www.meetup.com/Chicago-dotNet_Mobile_Developers/events/181831322/ .

Xamarin doesn’t replace the Android SDK and API's but wraps them in C# wrappers and integrates them with a Mono framework, so it’s a good technology for Android developers who want to branch out into iPhone and windows Phone development and share code between them (and avoid ObjectiveC!). Because Java and C# are so syntactically similar, it’s pretty easy for Android developers to pick up.
