I posted under discussion, but if anyone is interested in creating a Google hangout Book Club for the summer, can you please message me. I don't know where to start, so please spread the word.

I'm a parent and educator. I would like to start a summer book club hangout for elementary age kids.  I don't exactly know where to start, but if this is something that interests you, please message me. If you know someone else who might be interested, could you pass on this message.

Last summer I tried to have a "book club" for my daughter's class and friends. I was thinking maybe this summer it would be better to try it as a Google hangout .

Are there others out there who are interested in having a summer "book club" for elementary kids? My daughter is 8, so somewhere in that age range.

If so, send me your name, info and I'll try to get a list together of contacts etc.

I teach a Basic Composition course at a community college in Portland, OR. My students need to write a paper defining community.

As part of their assignment they need to spend time in an activity which helps them define community. I'm trying to set up a series of Hangouts, tentatively for Fridays, at a time during the school day (Pacific Time).

Many of my students are second language speakers, so let me know if you're interested in having a student translate something, teach a lesson or just interview them about their native country. Languages are Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic and African dialects (east and west).

Hi! My name is Joye, and I teach composition at the community college level in Portland, OR. I'm participating in a community-based learning faculty cohort and am always looking for ways our students can serve community. I noticed many of you are elementary teachers. If you ever need a college student to do something for your classroom via hangout, let me know. We've had students speak to AVID students before and have found this a great experience.
