Upscale Brazilian eatery featuring all-you-can-eat grilled meat carved tableside & a salad bar.- Google
"Add the garlic potatoes, fried bananas, and cheese bread and it's great."
"Go to Chama Gaucha for best value or if downtown, to Fogo de Chao."

Very disappointing. The food on the hot bar was tepid at best although the lobster bisque was delicious. The salad bar was meager compared to Chama Gaucha or Fogo de Chao. The shrimp in the salad were overcooked. The side dishes brought to the table couldn't qualify as lukewarm. The requested replacements weren't hot either, unlike Chama Gaucha where waiters replace side dishes, replenish bread without having to be requested after the dishes have been on the table for a few minutes and have chilled. We made specific requests to two different waiters for leg of lamb and never did receive it. Had we been by ourselves we would have taken up the issues with the manager. However we had our daughter and family from Georgetown with us and did not want to make a fuss though we did tell a waiter immediately about the inadequate temperature of food at the hot bar. And probably because of the unsafe temperature at the hot bar, one of our party had symptoms of food poisoning commencing 15-30 minutes after leaving the restaurant and which continued for 6 hours after. Would not recommend this restaurant at all despite its convenient location to the Majestic. Go to Chama Gaucha for best value or if downtown, to Fogo de Chao.

We showed up 20 minutes before close on a Saturday! (we're horrible, we know) The server(s!) we're AWESOME, though we wish we could've tipped the actual guys toting around the meat too, they were great. I Don't have a particular tongue for meat, but this was sooooo good. I loved the prime rib, couldn't beat it anywhere. Our sever was a really great guy, knew his menu and even after the meat we found room for dessert. This place was exceptional. Wish I was here now!

Texas de Brazil is a fairly good Brazilian steakhouse with similar offerings and service to Chama Gaucha, but I would say the taste goes to Chama Gaucha easily. The Parmesan bread they bring to the table is decent, but fails to compare to Chama Gaucha's by a wide margin. Much like Chama Gaucha, the standard table sides are nothing extraordinary; however the fried bananas are better at Texas de Brazil than at Chama Guacha. Next, the salad bar. Don't eat too much of the salad, but it's definitely something you should not miss. The salad bar items are plentiful and high quality whether it's cheese or high quality dressings on your salad or any other other various items. Nevertheless, the meat is where it's at. I tried all the cuts, but I will only mention some of them. The lamb chops were excellent and absolutely delicious. The chicken Parmesan was tasty, juicy (although another at my table later got a dry piece). The chicken and filet mignon wrapped with bacon was fine, but mainly because the bacon was so delicious. The chicken was dry and the filet mignon was tough. The sausage was quite delicious, somewhat unexpectedly so. I do not remember being given a ribeye like at Chama Gaucha. The various pieces of pork like the Parmesan pork and pork tenderloin were tasty, but nothing I couldn't make at home rather easily. The standout of course is the house specialty which is a slice of sirloin. THIS is what I filled my plate with. In fact, this one cut may have been better than Chama Gaucha's version. The outside was crispy through proper rendering of the fat and flavored with seasoning. This cut makes it worth it to go to any Brazilian steakhouse. The papaya ice cream did not disappoint... much other than I prefer Chama Gaucha's. In short, Texas de Brazil will be a good-to-great experience if you go. However, I know now that for me Chama Gaucha is my first choice.
