you feel transported to a mysterious, secret and lusty place as soon as you walk in. it's great, with fantastic, imaginative cocktails and delicious food. try the gimlet that's made with japanese whiskey. so many good options on the menu including the poached egg and ravioli app and the pork loin entree. i must return if not for dinner, for the ambiance and the drinks!

All scene, little good food. Fun place to party though. Just don't make too much noise - I have friends who live above it, and they hate when people get rowdy.

Everyone I have brought to this restaurant has simply LOVED it! The food is delicious, the vibe is very cool (hidden on a random street in NYC with no name, you walk downstairs as a man in a top hat waits outside), you can't go wrong... I recommend : Creekstone Brisket or the Chicken "Under a Brick" as well as a Trophy Wife cocktail

we had a disappointing meal at this spot. the setup of rooms is unusual and just doesn't quite work. the food and service was mediocre at best. i'm not sure why it continues to get good reviews.

Great ambiance and our server was amazing. The bar is top notch and the food does not disappoint. This is one of those places that you have to go for yourself and experience. Painting a picture of this place with words or tiny online pics doesn't do it justice. It was designed by some brilliant people and it's not surprising what kind of clientele it attracts for it's got a following for a reason.

Under new chef, Mark Strausman, Griffou has quite a following. Great rustic Italian food, great bar scene, going from strength to strength. Could use a couple more motive candles on the stairs, though!
