"Walking down to the river, we talked, free of distractions. At home I feel as if I’m always trying to do five things at once and conversations are constantly interrupted. But here, it’s just us. No chores or emails, just walking and chatting. Just being, together."

Port office staff are fortunate to work in this charming historic building in the Cascade Locks Marine Park. Our office is just one of three structures built in 1904 and 1905 to house the lock tenders who supervised the operation of the Historic Locks and Canal along the Columbia River. Want to know more? Check out the Cascade Locks Historical Museum this summer in Cascade Locks Oregon!

This was the worst thing I have ever spent money on. The food was hospital cafeteria style 30 years ago. Cold and disgusting and buffet style not what is advertised. The ship is falling apart. Spider webs with bugs near the buffet. There is peeling wallpaper everywhere, there were holes in the walls. The captain never shut his trap. Beware...read all the negative reviews - don't give these people your money. There is a reason they offer no refunds.

Have been on many events aboard the Spirit. Always enjoyable. Note all the one star reviews from people who don't know the rules of the water ways and that commercial vessels have the right of way and, the spectators by and large ignored orders to move from the sherrif and the coast guard. The Flugtag was shut down because Red Bull violated the terms of their permit by allowing the channel to be blocked.

This might be something enjoyable if it weren't for the sketchy people behind the wheel. At a time when there was traffic on the river, the pilot of this vessel hit another vessel. That's unacceptable! On top of it all, after they crashed their vessel, they complained to the coast gaurd about a Red Bull event taking place in the area and got the while event shut down. These guys don't deserve our business.

Captain has zero regard for the safety of his passengers nor the other people on the river. How dare you just ram small boats and barge your way through a huge riverfront event. The Portland Spirit created a hostile and unsafe atmosphere, causing the cancelation of world stage event. This is far from the 1st time the have played the part of the bully on the river. I hope the city revokes their license.

We have taken the Portland Spirit for dinner cruises brunch cruises and just about every trip they do. The food is always top notch and so is the service and entertainment. Before people talk about seamanship they might want to look into what Maritime/Admiralty Law actually looks like. "Anchoring in a position that obstructs a passageway ordinarily used by other boats is against the law." The law is pretty clear

The Spirit of Porltand was out in full force on Saturday August 1st, 2015, unfortunately not aboard this vessel. With 86,000 Oregonians watching and an alternate route down river availible(which they used later in the evening), the so called "Portland Spirit" Smashed through civilian watercraft and shutdown an event that hasn't been to Portland in almost a decade. Although on the correct side of the law(the channel should not have been blocked). Still does not give them the excuse not to adapt to a situation. The only thing they will care about is whether this event will effect their business and not about the 86,000 people's Saturday they ruined. Ship should change name to "Spirit Breaker".
