BEWARE!!! DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY! I am the controller for a 50 year old, very well known Portland company. I plan the Christmas parties for our company every year. I thought it would be a great idea to try something new so I booked it with the Portland Spirit. Oh boy, bad idea. On February 19, 2014, I spoke to Molly Olson. She sent me paperwork which included a date to give her a final head count and payment. My initial reservation was for 25 people. I told her this was just a guess and that it would change as we got closer. She said I could add or delete guests by the time I had to give my final guest count. She told me she would need the final payment by November 1, 2014. She said I would get a reminder email about the guest count and final payment before November 1st. I did not receive any emails from her or anyone. On November 17, 2014, I received an email from someone named Kelli Bergstrom asking for the final payment and guest count. My guest count increased to 33 and she said there wasn't room for us on the Portland Spirit now. She told us they could move us to another older boat but we weren't interested in that. Why didn't they tell us that we couldn't add more people? If they would have, we could have made the reservation for more people to make sure they could accommodate us. How is this our fault? Why didn't they email us when they were suppose to so this didn't happen? We requested a refund and they said no. I feel if we had been contacted by the dates that were given to me by Molly Olson, I would have been able to make the changes. It was almost 3 weeks after the due date that I was contacted about my guest count and final payment. At that time I was not told there was no extra room to add to my guest count. There was no time to try and fix things with the event being less than 3 weeks away at that point. We had to settle for a venue we did not want because there wasn't time to find something better so close to Christmas. We have no choice but to file in small claims court against them. Ridiculous. Never again! Don’t give these people your money! Tracie M.

My family and I took a two hour lunch cruise on the Willamette. Food was very good, the overall experience was excellent. We made some great memories and really enjoyed the scenic views. The crew was universally attentive to our needs, and friendly. Colin was our cruise manager and he's clearly built Ann exceptional team. We will use this company again in three future when entertaining other guests and on other occasions. Totally recommend them.

We hosted our annual Employee Appreciation Party aboard the Portland Spirit and it was a huge hit! Mindy, our Cruise Manager, helped make the party the success that it was. Her attention to detail, anticipation, thoughtfulness and genuine care about our group was absolutely amazing and appreciated!

I booked a wedding with Portland Spirit and cannot overstate how absolutely wonderful it was to work with their team! The weather complicated our ceremony plans in a very big way and Portland Spirit literally saved the day. Their flexibility and hospitality exceeded expectations across the board. What a fantastic experience!

We took the "Landmarks of the Gorge" cruise on the Sternwheeler on Wed. Sept. 10. Very impressed with the entire cruise--from the efficient booking to the delicious continental breakfast, lunch and dessert buffets. Two in our party had mobility issues and the staff on the "Columbia Gorge" were very helpful in assisting us when necessary. We had no problems moving about the ship or accessing the buffet. Excellent narration during the cruise which greatly added to the enjoyment of the beautiful scenery. A wonderful way to see the Columbia Gorge!

I love you Portland Spirit but not blasting music down the Willamette at 12:20 at night. The music travels so far on the water and there are MANY families living along the river as you go by. The dogs bark... we're all awake and Oh crap... here you come again. South this time. Thank you. I wish I had a bb gun.

It was an average experience for me and my friends who were visiting Oregon. While waiting for boarding to finish we got a table but the sun was right in our face where we were sitting and there was no shade on the window and essentially we were really hot by the time the cruise started moving. We felt a window shade would have been nice addition in hot summer cruises. Also on one of the coffee cup we found a small spider with a spider web floating around, we just gave it to the staff. With such a steep price i would expect a little more cleanliness. The menu choice was very limited and even the appetizers were not included in the ticket price which was a bit surprising. The serving staff appeared a bit confused in taking orders as well. However the views from the deck area were very good and some of the crew had amazing singing talent, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

My girlfriend and I went on a night dinner cruise and loved it. It was definitely pricey, but was a nice atmosphere. The cruise was $70 a person and drinks were $8-$9. (My girlfriend ordered a hot cocoa. Was cold, was $9!) In addition, they have a limited gluten free menu, but still delicious. At the end of the cruise, we went to the upper deck and watched the captain, Captain Guillespe, dock the ship. He was super nice and very informative. It was nice for a date, but the price was steep. I might go again of they have some specials. You definitely have to go once in your lifetime... Save up!
