Read more about credit card processing basics, something all small business owners must know about.
Accepting credit and debit cards is no longer a luxury. The convenience it offers customers can make the difference between making the sale and losing it.

After a short 3 months of using Intuit/Quickbooks, I will be cancelling my services with them.

They cap payments received at $5000, and as a business owner regularly needing to process amounts much greater than this, it's a big problem. Their "solution" is to make their customers provide the last 3 months of their bank statements. I was floored when I read that request because of how invasive it is.

Keep in mind, Quickbooks and Intuit: I HIRED YOU. I am allowing you to keep a portion of my money contractually due to me to process my payments. I do not need to apply to receive my own money and I certainly will not be providing you with access to view my business banking statements. You are not a mortgage lender or a credit bureau, and you absolutely should not be asking such a privilege from your customers.

Any successful business is going to need to process payments in excess of $5000, therefore that should not be the limit.

Diana Rivera Diana_Rivera@intuit.com was very rude. She interrupts the customer and she has an attitude.

PayPal does not have a limit on payments received and they do not ask their customers for their bank statements. Their only process is to hold the funds for 10 days in case the payer requests a refund.

I understand a business must take precautions against "risk," but to request copies of a customer's bank statements and refuse to release funds until then is stepping out of your bounds and a bad way of doing business.

I will never recommend Quickbooks/Intuit to any of my colleagues and I will ensure anyone considering Quickbooks is swayed away.
