Lots of Snow! Usually a beautiful sight on a clear day. You can see the Manhattan Freedom Tower and the Staten Island Ferry boats going in and out

This review is from: Mateguas Island: A Novel of Terror and Suspense (Kindle Edition)
This is not your average terror/suspense novel. This is a superiorly written book that makes the fantastical believable. You recognize the struggles of the main characters, and by the end (even though it doesn't seem so in the beginning), you can see the goodness and ethics the main characters try to live by.

Overall, a fantastic book. I can't wait until the sequel comes out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brothers' bond, February 27, 2015

This review is from: Sword of Shadows (Kindle Edition)

Let me just start by saying that the author has an imagination out of this world. So much happens in this story! Sword of Shadows in the sequel to Shadow over Avalon. I was waiting for a while for the release of this story and boy, the wait was well worth it. I absolutely fell in love with the characters, Arthur and Kai. That tells me what a great job Ms. Lesley did to develop the characters.

The two brothers, with the same mother but different fathers, have a bond out of this world. There's just so much that the author tackles in the story. There's the family dynamics, the different classes, different races/species... the good versus the evil, sacrifices, and the emotional scars from the past that still haunt the characters. Just a very moving story.

I mean don't get me wrong, the story is really a sci-fi fantasy. I was in awe with the way the events unfold in this sequel. Like I said, the author's imagination just blew me away.

If you're looking for a series to read... a nice escape into a fantasy world, this is highly recommended.
