As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I have some big news to share with you. I've accepted an incredibly exciting full-time position as Managing Director of Digital Missile, a brand new digital marketing agency in Downtown Minneapolis, and today is my first day!

As such, I will no longer be consulting as a #socialpreneur. This experience has been incredibly important to both my personal and professional growth. It taught me very valuable lessons, gave me much-needed independence, and most importantly, showed me that I can do a lot more than I think I can. At a time when I was feeling down and out professionally, going it alone gave me strength to persevere and create something useful, unique and focused on doing the best for my clients.

As managing director, I'll have the opportunity to build something equally unique and will be able to put my fingerprint on a company that's part of a greater whole; Digital Missile's parent company is The Scott Petinga Group, and my former client (now boss!), +Scott Petingahttp://scottpetinga.com/the-empire/.

Digital Missile is a content marketing, social media and Pay-Per-Click (PPC) agency. We are fast, nimble, and focused on sky-rocketing your digital marketing goals.

I want to thank all those who supported my consulting practice, and thank all my clients, colleagues and partners. I hope I can be of service to you in the future.

This actually doesn't surprise me at all. Companies should spend more time training employees for management positions, or making hiring the right people in management positions to begin with. Sometimes those that can get the job done are not the same people who can lift up, train, mentor, motivate & encourage a team to perform at its peak. Sometimes knowing your strengths & limitations means knowing you'd be better as an individual contributor rather than a team leader. And companies need to do a better job of accepting this reality & fostering a positive work environment for all employees, regardless of whether they manage employees or not (or can't).

This is the BEST online tool. Ever! Love it :) You should check it out if you need to create graphics and have either limited skills or a limited budget. Perfect for both, and also great for professional designers, as well.

As much as I would one day love to swim and touch a beautiful #dolphin , I would rather see them free and healthy in the ocean. Swim with Dolphin programs are cruel and unnatural to these beautiful creatures that call the ocean their home. Capturing them is traumatic and keeping them in small, enclosed pens is cruel. Let's set them free! #DolphinProject
