I think this "tangential learning" is the weakest form of video game storytelling. The Last of Us is the epitome of this concept, where fairly weak gameplay is propped up by phenomenal sections of, basically, film. It's the structure where gameplay is rewarded by "content".

I'm not dismissing the earnestness of the storytelling, but I'd much rather see Inuit values and legends portrayed through gameplay as metaphor rather than chunks of documentary footage and animation.

Also, the idea that a story that can go completely ignored by a player who just wants to "play the game" really irks me. It shows that no effort was made to integrate Inuit culture into the mechanics.

The main problem I have with this is that good game design should be about generosity; having brilliant ideas and sharing them freely with the players of the game.

"Good" free-to-play design is about holding back your very best ideas and putting them behind a paywall. The ethics of game design are completely reversed to the point where your best ideas are in service of money, rather than in service of the overall game quality.

That was one of the most off-the-wall bizarre gameplay demos I've seen.

At least Damien is extremely handsome.

I like the music. I wish I were able to play this, but at the moment, I don't have a computer of my own. :/

Um. What? No Spelunky?

OK, It came out on other platforms already, but Vita version is the best just for multiscreen ad hoc. Best Vita game ever, hands down.

I've never been able to say I love going to the dentist, but Dr. Haimovici is on a completely other level. This is the only dentist I've seen who is clearly in love with dentistry. The wall of his office is literally covered in awards and degrees, and one of the secretaries says there are dozens more that simply won't fit. He is the fastest, most efficient dentist I've ever seen, and not at the cost of gentleness or friendliness, either. His fillings take never over 15 minutes, and his checkups are usually under 5. The rest of the staff is always friendly and helpful as well, and Haimovici is qualified to offer some more advanced types of dentist work(such as periodontology) so it saves you from having to visit a specialist if you require specialized treatment. Probably the best dentist in Montreal.
