"... the symbol plain,
Of Dalek right and Dalek gain.

"Then raise the Dalek standard high!
Within its shade we live and die.
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
The Dalek flag is flying here."

(Adapted from the 19th century socialist anthem, "The Red Flag", sung to the traditional tune of "O Tannenbaum.")

Even early production notes referred to him as Dr. Who.

Here is a Whovian novel for bibliophiles! I am reading "The Turing Test," a book with a striking device: although the whole book is actually written by Paul Leonard, the first part is narrated by Alan Turing, the second by Graham Greene and the third by Joseph Heller, all set in the tail end of the Second World War.

Another very interesting thing about this novel is that it is in no way dependent upon Whovian continuity or references thereto: instead the fullest enjoyment will be had by the reader who knows history and prestigious literature.

Following an ancient treasure map, we came to the brink of a high cliff with a bizarre and dangerous entrance. We climbed down the stairs to the three glassy domes on the plain below. Then we descended into the deep shaft in one of the domes to encounter an antlered, but otherwise boneless, furry monstrosity.

If there can be an awesome opera about Nixon in China, why not one about Dr. Who?

Cactus-slugs and a ring of delusion. And our Priest of the Raven Queen persuaded our stricken jungle dwarf that the afterlife was preferable to mutating into a meat-slug.
