So Harmony Gold has a kickstarter for a new Robotech series. Which I know a lot of fans of the original Robotech series are going to want to jump on and help fund, but before you do please consider the following.

Harmony Gold are pieces of shit. They claim IP ownership of content they never created because they had some really good business men screw over several Japanese animation studios, and artists.

Harmony Gold is the reason we can't have good Mech Warrior games anymore, Harmony Gold is the reason why Macross series and merchandise can not be licensed and sold in the U.S.

Harmony Gold has been living off of intellectual property it never created and then exploited into popularity in the 80s and 90s. Do not feed this piece of shit company. I know Robotech is near and dear to a lot of western fans (myself included), but HG have also been massive assholes to the fanbase and have taken advantage of a deal they worked out nearly 30 years ago. Please do not support that kickstarter.

Amen.

Most entertaining part of this match, was seeing Jermaine Jones' phenomenal plays. Such ball control, much awareness, so pro.

Dear #Uruguay  , fuck off and take your disgraceful piece of shit with you. We don't need you at the World Cup.

Fuck year! Memo Ochoa! Mexico might've as well built a brick wall on the goal line. Miguel Herrera has by far put together the strongest Mexican team I've ever seen at the World Cup. I am really proud of this draw, Mexico fought hard on defense, and they had some great attempts offensively but they need to be more aggressive, hard to do against a team like Brazil but not impossible with how strong they are looking.

I am so excited for their game against Croatia next week!

#worldcup2014  Ok, i get it, the head butt wasn't needed, but am I the only one that now sees Müller as big giant baby who cries at everything when he doesn't get his way? Seriously you're good at what you do, but do you have to have the personality of a 12 year old?

Still rooting for Germany but FFS.

Damn it John, you summarized my feelings again in a short clip. For those that don't follow Soccer or have no care for the upcoming world Cup this is still a good watch. #fifaworldcup2014

Nice, now SE has to remove that RNG bullshit with the Atmas and then I'll be a little more interested in this progression :)

Amazon has some classic Sci-Fi movies available on Prime VOD. Last night I saw one of the classic George Pal produced movies When Worlds Collide and there were some things I couldn't help but wonder.

There are some deviations in the film from the book, much like there were in the War of the Worlds movie, but one of the things that really struck me was how the book, and the movies each define space travel concepts of their era. For instance in the book it's about rocket tubes, where in the movie it's about a rocket with wings that can glide down through the new planets atmosphere and the rocket sled concept which was a popular one at the time.

The other thing that I kept thinking about was, the movie doesn't specify a year, however if you were to take the movie at face value and assumed in took place in the year of filming, then you have to consider that: all of Earth's history would have been lost. Much of the modern day discoveries that we understand now took decades to conceive. In the universe of when world's collide the progress of humanity would have been set back by at least a century. It wasn't until almost 30 years later that microprocessors would have been invented in a normal timeline, but in the WWC timeline the whole of civilization that survived is now on an alien planet, with an alien history, and alien materials. It's just interesting to think that modern historical findings, inventions, and advanced physics theories would never exist or immensely delayed in the WWC timeline.

Anyway, I know they're working on a remake, it'll be interesting to see how it works out, considering that a ton of the disaster movies since 1998 until now have taken several elements from the original movie.

+Miguel S and +Mike Kessler - Thanks for the info! I originally got Prime just for the shipping and I often forget about the VOD service.

I came in to service my old 2007 Jetta. While there I asked Odie if he could help me in getting an estimate for a trade-in. He referred me too Charles who worked with his manager to get me a great deal on a new Jetta TDI. Odie has always provided exceptional service on my old Jetta's maintenance. Charles worked hard to get me a good deal on my trade-in and to find a new car that fit my budget. Very satisfied with the service and professionalism from both parties.
