Snow? Really? I thought we were done with this stuff. I've already started to transition from soups and stews for dinner, and have started grilling... guess the pork chops slated for tonight will be broiled. (My favorite way to do pork chops: http://www.nytimes.com/1999/09/15/dining/the-minimalist-vietnamese-pork-chops-demystified.html)

Thank you veterans! Everyone else: on this Veteran's Day, why not read a Medal of Honor citation? http://www.history.army.mil/moh.html Powerful.

Current favorite oatmeal: pistachios + dried cranberries + flax seed + anise seed. Lightly to taste: salt, sweetener, splash of soy milk.

100% pure maple syrup: Wow. Expensive. But.Worth.Every.Penny. Try: plain greek yogurt + crushed pistachios + maple syrup + (optionally) a banana slice or two, maybe some anise seed if you're feeling complicated.

Did a modified Bibimbap (with quinoa - bibimquinoa, I guess) for dinner last night and it was a hit! Which was great, since it's one of my favorite dishes. http://www.maangchi.com/recipe/bibimbap

King Oscar Tiny Tots bristling sardines with a bit of garlic salt and Sriracha sauce for lunch. Loved it. http://www.kingoscar.com/products-by-market/usa/usa-sardines/tiny-tots-brisling-sardines-in-olive-oil.html I could have been eating sardines all these years. They don't deserve the "nasty" reputation they have. Amazingly healthy and non-offensive. Tasty + low cal.
