This is a clean, well-maintained and beautiful facility with staff so dedicated to the well-being of horses, that I now only trust their knowledge in caring for and riding these sophisticated animals. I began my venture into horse-riding a little over a year ago, but struggled to find a stable that combined both finesse in riding with excellence in customer service. My experiences ranged from not being contacted back (when wanting to schedule a lesson), to being told that "It doesn't matter to me if you quit; there are many other people who want to take lessons from me". I finally decided to leave the barn that I was at following a traumatic fall from a horse, and being condemned for being 2 minutes late for a lesson and told: "I will not teach you today, but I will charge you for the lesson". I found ELS online in a blur of tears, though was able to connect with ELS's owner, Robyn, and quickly set up a date for an evaluation. Needless to say, I was extremely nervous to get back on a horse, and my body rejected wanting to "get back in the saddle" so strongly that I must have looked like quite the mess to others! - However, I was so relieved to feel welcomed during my evaluation, and it even seemed like a miracle to have finally found a stable that cared for my needs as a customer, and also as a true individual. Since then, my struggle with feeling confident on top of a horse has slowly softened, thanks to graded exposure to my fears of the unexpected, and also to that of losing control (of which I was made aware of by ELS, and consequent introspection). I am also more acutely aware of my body, moods, and intentions in a way that I never was before at any barn. I have learned to be more sensitive to and "listen" for the horse's needs, as well as to underscore my role as a leader to them. To be honest, I even considered quitting when my progress had plateaued - and when I couldn't even cope with a horse speeding up because of my anxiety - but I grit my teeth and fought the unease through the gentle (yet firm) guidance and support from ELS. Recently, I have been thrilled to finally see myself improve - receiving the horses' full movements in my seat, and also thinking about the tensions in my body as instructed - and am getting closer to my goal of trotting off-line, not just by sheer athleticism or luck, but by a solid understanding of truly being in sync with the horse. I am also happy to be in the process of developing a sweet, commiserative relationship with the horse that I ride - an opportunity that, without being educated in equine behavior and horsemanship at ELS, I would not be able to look forward to nurturing in the future. Thus, whether it be to enjoy a stress-free birthday party executed with professionalism and care, all the way to asking for support coping with an emotional desire to further one's experiences with horse-riding and horsemanship (like me!), I recommend consulting the friendly and sensitive staff to best suit your needs. There is also a plethora of opportunities both for children and adults alike to be involved in anything to do with horses (and even farm animals!), ranging from volunteering to clean stalls to turning in horses at the end of the day. I hope to continue here at Equine Life Solutions for as long as I am in Washington. ELS rocks!

Riding with Robyn Smith and ELS has been truly transformational. I started riding with Robyn after a fall that left me without confidence and no knowledge of how to repair my relationship with riding and my horse. Robyn gave me techniques and tools to use that boosted my confidence and made me feel safe. Just as important, she has taught me how horses behave and how to "read" them so I can see the world from their point of view. Understanding horse behavior and learning methods to communicate with my horse has made me the confident rider I always wanted to be. Robyn is able to focus on each rider's needs be it conquering fear, how to balance on a horse or even the beginning steps of how to approach a horse. Her program is fantastic. Go now!

If you want a fun and safe environment to learn about horsemanship and to grow personally, ELS is THE place. Robyn and her herd of horses have changed my life for the better. I have been consistently riding at this barn for over three years and cannot imagine going elsewhere. I have grown in my riding skills, body awareness, and mind awareness under Robyn's instruction. The horses there - Zena, Jasmine, Robbin, just to name a few - have taught me the ultimate lessons about respect, forgiveness, and trust. I cannot thank them and Robyn enough for their time, patience, and kindness!

I have absolutely loved coming to ELS Stables, it has truly been the most exciting and fulfilling year and half of my life. I've made real connections at our barn, with both people and horses. Robyn really desires a 'community' feeling at ELS, and encourages us to use our strengths and even helps us to find them. If you are considering starting lessons, or looking for a barn that is taking a new and exciting approach to horsemanship, you need not look any further. The relationships that Robyn creates and fosters within her herd is natural, fun, and comfortable. Expect to learn so much more than just how to sit upon a horse's back, because there is so much more to know through the natural approach Robyn teaches her riders and horses. We'll welcome you because we know that you share the same love of horses, and we just can't wait to see what niche you'll create for yourself at the ELS community!

I rode here for almost 1 year and ALL I did was learn how to trot bareback and a little bit of cantering. IT WAS ALL BAREBACK. I even asked my trainer if I ever would ride in a saddle and she flat out said "no! This is horsemanship, not the hunter jumper ring." Not to mention that you can't pet the horses... What the heck, I understand they are rescue horses but if they are nippy, TEACH THEM MANNERS. Oh and Robyn pretty much addressed new customers only, and their 10 or under children. My friend got pinned to a wall by one of the lesson horses and I was bucked off. I also didn't like that they did not trust you to fetch your own horse.Honestly, this barn will get you no where in the equestrian world.

We have been with Robyn since she started Equine Life Solutions. I feel so grateful to the person who recommended Robyn as a Trainer. The balanced riding she teaches is so effective for horse lover's of all ages. Robyn and her staff make sure that first and foremost all horse and human participants are safe and having fun. She also makes sure that all goals are realized. I have been very blessed that Blue and I have also found a very Happy wonderful barn family as an added bonus.

I was looking for a stable where my son could learn gentle horsemanship. I found Equine Life Solutions and have been so happy with this stable. Not only has my son been learning bitless balanced riding, but he has been learning leadership and is gaining confidence in the rest of his life. You may think that you are just going to learn to ride a horse, but really you will learn to overcome your fears, improve your posture and nurture a positive self esteem. I love the folks out at Equine Life Solutions-I would do anything for those guys! If you are looking for an amazing equine experience--this is the stable for you!
