- I think "healthy cooking shows" could represent a wide variety of foods. I don't eat a lot of low-carb, low-sugar stuff, I just make sure that almost everything I eat is organic, and/or that I've made it myself. I love the Barefoot Contessa. All of the "bad" food she makes uses really high quality ingredients- which is the most important part. I think Michael Pollan said that you can eat all the junk food you want- just so long as you make it yourself.
And as far as inovation goes, I think, as a culture, America has moved away from cooking. We eat a lot of fast food and pizza and go to restaurants. "Inovation" in cooking could be as simple as learning the basics. One year for christmas my fiance got me "The Joy of Cooking." It's totally changed my relationship with food, and how I cook. Who knew that making pitas was so easy?? (btw- a good tv alternative to this book is 'America's Test Kitchen' on PBS).Aug 12, 2012
- My mother is a healthy cook chef. She can do anything from raw vegan cuisine to vegetarian! She has helped to open up restaurants, cafes and schools! Currently she is teaching at a culinary school in Austin and she would be great on her own show!Aug 16, 2012
