Kids, let us all learn from this.
The UAAP Twitter account (@UAAPSeason75) came under fire yesterday afternoon when they tweeted: "ADMU dominates overrated NU, 89-65." A lot of people got offended with the overrated comment and description for the National University.
The UAAP Media Bureau, who is in charge of the Twitter account, deleted the tweet, apologized, but blamed an intern from UE for posting the offending tweet. (What?!)
Who are the people behind the UAAP Media Bureau? Are they students or professionals? Whatever happened to owning up a mistake and taking full responsibility of an action?
Social Media is a risky business. It's more than creating social networking accounts, posting updates, uploading fancy photos and tweeting. It entails policies, guidelines, common sense, maturity, accountability, responsibility...and a kick-ass crisis management plan.
I wonder why some people are still taking it lightly.
