I discovered this place through a Weekly Yelp awhile back when they had featured the Cro-Brio they serve up here (it's a brioche cronut and is what baked good dreams are made of!), so when a friend and I came in on a Wed only to find that the Cro-Brios only make an appearance on the weekend, we were heartbroken. But, the amazing gal behind the counter, Megan, made our day by telling us that they have a sort of croissant happy hour where if you buy a coffee beverage after 3pm, you get a croissant pastry for free! Sold!! Their plain croissant are flaky, buttery perfection and their almond versions are exquisite! Megan also told us that we can always call beforehand and they will put some Cro-Brios aside to be picked up as they tend to sell out, especially on Sat. mornings. She even took down my info so that I would have a couple of Cro-Brios waiting for me Sat. afternoon! So super kudos to Megan for turning our frowns upside-down! I came around 3pm on Saturday and lo and behold my Cro-Brios were ready and waiting (I had confirmed w/Kristin, the gal working on Sat, over the phone) and Kristin could not have been nicer! She even gave a full macaron in lieu of 2-mini ones per the Yelp Check-In freebie since they were sold out. I went w/lavender and it was delicious! I will definitely be spreading the Cro-Brio gospel and returning when I can to this adorable little bake shop on So-Fi!

The donuts alone are enough to give it 5 stars - they need those every day! How are nasty krispy kreme donuts a chain and this great place isn't? All of their other items are creative, great as well (they do need a bigger cake selection), really good prices, they really know what they're doing. It's hard to find really good pastry chefs like this place has.

Right around the corner from Lenoir is La Patisserie, a delightful, charming cottage with delicious pastries! What a perfect way to start an evening before eating at Lenoir or waiting on a table then enjoying coffee in their quaint room. Otherwise, make a day of romance on South 1st and eat here for a long, relaxing lunch before shopping around the corner. Whatever choice, definitely stop in and try the Almond Macaron. TIP: Open daily from 8am-5pm with croissants available for lunch. WiFi also available.

If you are ever in South Austin, don't miss the opportunity to try out La Patisserie where they are known for their crobrio-their own spin on the popular cronut (a mix between a donut and croissant). Their green tea crobrio was a little more bitter than I had thought but I'd think it would appeal to those who don't like their pastries terribly sweet. I also had the chance to try their chai macaron (thanks Yelp, for the coupon!) which I was partial towards--it was just at the right sweetness level. The place itself is very quaint-reminiscent to the houses you would find in New Orleans and the service is very quick (It's a bakery, c'mon!). While you're there, check out the cool mural next door--it's a great photo op.

Favorite favorite favorite little french bakery! I absolutely adore this place. This is the only place I get macarons from, just because it feels like the only place you should get macarons from. Cheap prices and great selection of pastries/desserts/coffees/teas.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lora! I'm honored that we're your favorite bakery. Please stop in anytime you're in the mood for a sweet treat or a warm beverage. We look forward to seeing you soon. -Soraiya

Flourless hazelnut chocolate cake. Nobody makes cake like this!! We typically come at the end of the day and since La Patisserie closes at 5 our selection is always limited. I've also had their macaroons which have the perfect texture and flavor. The atmosphere is girly and cute. Perfect for a meet up with your girlfriends. There aren't many tables but I've never seen it packed. Most people grab their sweets to go. There's plenty of street parking outside. Take a picture with the Austin postcard street art afterwards too!

Love this bakery! One of the rare places in Austin that really give you your money's worth in macarons. Tried a couple other places and La Patisserie always makes their macarons juuuust enough bigger to make the trip down south worth it :) It's such a cozy little establishment and right in the heart of south Austin so if you're making a side trip from SoCo to see the Austin mural definitely stop by! It's only a couple more steps down the road.

I love this place. Small, quiet, and super friendly. A great place to get a light lunch, coffee, and dessert. I love their French macarons. It's never super crowded like the other over-hyped coffeshops in south Austin. Definitely a hidden treasure.
