The food here is great; pork torta - excellent! The homemade horchata, on the other hand, was way too chalky. Biggest downsides here are the very long lines at lunch, and the high prices (yes, the food's good, but you could get something at the taqueria that's almost as good for considerably less - just saying). At least the people are all really friendly here.

Summer squash and horchata latte were mediocre. It's a food court-type atmosphere but a little nicer than the norm. Service was great. I probably wouldn't come back unless they changed the menu. The options seemed very limited for a vegetarian.

Affordable yet trendy mexican restaurant. The seating and room opens out to the outside. Food was really good, and their margarita. They had a happy hour special, that included 2 fish tacos and margarita for $11. Happy hour ended at 7pm M-Th.

I come here multiple times per week. The authentic recipes and fresh ingredients keep me coming back. Shrimp tacos are awesome every day as is the pozole and my kids enjoy the quesadilla with oaxacan cheese and yams. On Saturday this place has, believe it or not, the very best waffle that can be had in Oakland. I don't even know what a raised waffle is, and I'm pretty sure waffles are not traditionally Mexican, but I don't care. The huevos cuatemoc are fabulous for brunch too, if you insist on geographic coherence.

Authentic Mexican cuisine made fresh and to order with a variety of flavors. The extra price is evident in the freshness and presentation of the dishes. Definitely worth the visit.

You could pay a third of the price for tacos in Fruitvale but these are worth every penny. Never disappoints.
