Bitsquare DAO (distributed autonomous organisation), bitsquare.io.
The design of the Bitsquare DAO is more or less finished and Manfred Karrer is writing up a white paper describing the technical details of the DAO, which should be finished in some weeks. We will launch the DAO early summer after some extensive testing. Before this contributors to the project will be awarded tokens, in proportion to the subjective value of their contributions, that they can use for trading and which may increase in value as time goes on. These tokens will come from a genesis block. That contributors to the project are awarded tokens is in some contrast to many ICOs where the intent seems to be to make as much money as possible. We see the Bitsquare DAO not as a vehicle to make money but more as a way to make society better. Privacy matters.
Our DAO will have rough edges in the beginning, but it will change over time to smooth things out. Changes will be voted on but cannot be arbitrary, there is some type of constitution that cannot easily be changed, due to market forces and the network effect.

If this works out I am prepared to stick my neck out and say that a new lifeform has been born. It cannot be stopped unless one shuts down internet, it is maximally decentralised with no single point of failure, it is open source and it adds value. In addition by copying parts of the code one can "easily" make another DAO. Why not a competitor to OpenBazaar or a DAO for transporting stuff? Such other DAOs I see as offspring. A whole new ecosystem might be born with competing DAOs, maybe some are run by neural networks.
Let the fun begin.
