Great article!
I think you should also mention the game theoretic approach.
Projects like www.nashX,com and Bank Run! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=462236) are based on the Nash equilibrium.
I think you can set up a ruleset or structure where the human involvement is used to solve some of the tasks which are difficult to do by software. For instance access to legacy systems like Bank transactions. Build a reward structure so that both human actors are more motivated to behave fair then unfair. Then the human actors are working for the shared goal, not only for their egoistic goal.

I think the idea of voting pools has some difficult implications. Think of a voting pool of wallstreet style exchanges and then one will join with more a silk road attitude (see BitPay ban for marijuana shops). Would they censor that new server? It seem that they have the power to do that. There might be clear cases of criminal actors where everybody agree is is good to block/censor, but that area will get blurry soon. Would they censor Wikileaks? Are they exposed to pressure from governments?
In Bitcoin miners have a similar power, but a bitcoin address is uncolored (yet), so a censorship will be technically impossible even if a huge majority of miners will try to prevent payments from some entities. Wikileaks could not be blocked by bitcoin, with OT voting pool solutions it could as far as I understood it.

Sorry if I misunderstood something, I am not so familiar with OT. I like OT a lot but that came to my mind after reading that.
