These days, it’s hard to know who you can really trust. There are many unscrupulous people out there, and this is especially true in industries where there’s money to be made. Real estate is no exception. Scammers see unwitting buyers, sellers, or renters as walking dollar signs. Don’t let yourself become a victim. To learn more about how to protect yourself and find out what three common scams you could be at risk for, watch this short video.

As you’ve probably noticed, our market right now is doing well. Actually, it’s doing a little too well. With inventory so low and demand so high, current conditions are resemble a much darker time in our market’s recent past: the 2007 mortgage crisis. While we’re not on the brink of disaster just yet, it’s never a bad idea to be prepared. Today I’d like to share the top five lessons we learned from 2007. To find out what those are, watch this short video.

Today, we’re going to talk a little bit about radon—what its risks are, how you can detect it in your home, what the mitigation process is for it, and how much it will cost you to test for and remediate. Joining me is Randy Paquette from First Choice Radon. Radon is a gas that can have potentially lethal long-term effects if it gets into your home. The good news is, it’s easy to test for and mitigate, and the cost is well worth the investment. To find out how you can keep your home radon-free, watch my latest video.

I have great numbers to report from the Triangle-area market. In December of 2017, inventory dropped 5% from 2016. With lower inventory often comes better prices for the homes that do sell, so it makes sense that 18% of the listings that sold were above listing price. Overall, several records were broken last year. To hear more about the 2017 market as well as some projections for 2018, watch my latest video.

Have You Set Any Goals for the New Year?

Do you have any goals for yourself set for the coming year? It’s a common tradition to create New Year’s resolutions, but unfortunately, it’s also common to forget about those goals until the next year. Did you know that you’re 80% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down? That simple statistic is the basis for the method I use to hold myself accountable to my goals—the “1-3-5” form. To learn more about this form and how you can use it to accomplish whatever goals you set for yourself, watch my latest video.
