Introduction

Mom, Artist, Web Designer, IT Consultant

I am a geeky mom, artist - philosopher by passion, a -web app developer/designer/architect by trade. I'm mostly a tender hearted, open minded, transparent, free thinking, childlike, energetic over talking goofball. My children are my main passion in my life (8yr old boy, 3yr old girl) and I pray every day that I may be the best mom I can be for them. When I get past the child rearing, in the future I hope to pursue a PhD. in neuropsychology or art therapy or maybe theology/comparative religion - we'll see. Did I mention that I ramble and talk a lot. I am really sensitive and thinned skinned but also extraverted, so it causes people to misunderstand me. Myers Briggs calls me a ENFP, Berkmans say I am blue blue, and psychologists say I have Sensory Perception Sensitivity (SPS) or are a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) as well as a High Sensation Seeker (HSS) - I scored 100% on both tests. Either way I am a bit of a neural over processor. I really relate to Finn on Adventure Time, Oh Glob. I don't sit well in any finite group or ideology. In fact I don't do groups well at all. I tend to be a bit iconoclastic, maybe a bit edgy, outsider-ish, black sheep-ish, a mixed bag of ideas and opinions, and generally bee bopping to a different drummer. I have been accused of having authority issues - too much of a free thinker - question authority type. Liberals say I am conservative on some issues, Conservatives just write me off as a liberal-elite, pro-Obama freak. I think I am very liberal on domestic/social issues and moderate on foreign and financial. But I really think I am just big picture practical and compassionate. I care about practical results and things that are simply designed and smart. I am an out of the box visionary who can execute and get things done...but a bit too perfectionistic and often over reaching. I really love working with intelligent people in a think tank team environment, but I'm not a fan of tricky politics and can often tick people off cause I don't play games, in or out of work or personal relationships. Saying what I honestly think and feel in the moment with sarcasm and humor gets me in trouble a lot. I am aware that I could use a better self censor, but it is hard for me to put on masks, no matter how appropriate they may be, so as to go along to get along. Nevertheless, I really enjoy collaborative environments since I have a natural tendency to want "to know and be known" and to connect in an authentic way with others. I love to share my creative thought process with others to gain validation of my ideas, projects and visions. Thus the write/talk too much issue. However, I also love my alone time and need to escape from the brain drain and yuckiness of the world - into my art, poetry, music, dance, yoga, commune with nature or just sleeeeeep..I love me my sleeeeppp. . You might also say that I aspire to an Emersonian type of self-reliance. Sometimes I think I may experience too many feelings of deep connection with nature, music and the arts, feelings of concern for children, animals, the planet and the pain of others who are less fortunate.  I think I may also experience more gratitude, poignancy, irony, forgiveness, and deep love than the average Joe and that makes me feel like a misfit at times. I am overwhelmed by all the deep, strong beliefs I experience and it makes me a bit of a heavy - always quoting some sage, saint or great leader for social change. Like, I believe in change for the better, second chances, the universal power of forgiveness/unconditional love, never giving up the hope for what is right. I possess a strong will, passion for integrity with practical wisdom, and strong sense of self responsibility/accountability. I admire humility, service, altruism, better angels, higher roads, and perseverance in the midst of oppression, hate, and injustice. I have a strong faith in all things God and good - fueled by grace and love. I am very egalitarian and seek truth, honesty, and compassion. I usually don't judge folks nor do I listen to/allow gossip in my presence (including watching any network news or listening to mudslinging talk show opinion). I try my best to find the good in all people, or at least be understanding as to why they may behave in such a destructive or cruel way. I realize I am no angel and all too often subject to my own human frailty and failure - I can never throw stones. I'm pretty deep with strong values, WYSIWYG and direct, but love goofing off and playful fun. But despite all that deep stuff, if you were to just hang with me day after day, you might think most of the time I am really casual, chill, laid back, silly and down to earth. I guess above all, I like to be kind, loving, fun and authentic in all I do. Whoa, I'm such a freak. That was hard to write.
