Dear Peter,

I don't know where to start. We cannot thank you enough for coming on board for this magical promotion and helping us deliver yet ANOTHER wedding on FM radio.

Thank you for your humour within the ceremony and making it unforgettable for Sam, Ian and their guests.
Thank you for sacrificing your sleep on Tuesday night.
Thank you for being so unbelievably professional and organised. Thank you for just being a lovely person and a lovely person to deal with.

Sam and Ian said "I do" in a ceremony that will be with them and their guests for the rest of their life.

Thank you very much for going over and above with your contributions. Your generosity is overwhelming and I cannot begin to imagine how over the moon Sam and Ian were with everything you did for them and provided for their wedding.

From all of us here, THANK YOU.

Kind regards,

Rachael O’Kane-Edney

Just arrived home from conducting the " Married at First Light " Wedding Ceremony for Ian and Samantha Spierenburg at the beautiful Branell Homestead at Laidley North.

It was a terrific Wedding - arranged as a prize on River 94.9 FM - and took place just as the morning light started to fill the sky over the ridge line. The temperature was a magical 5 degrees C.

We have conducted many lovely Wedding Ceremonies at various locations around the Branell Homestead and always enjoy working with the owners and staff.

River 94.9 put together the prize with many local businesses contributing to the total event, including:
Springfield Jewellers at Orion Shopping Centre, The Branell Homestead, White Lily Couture, Underground Hair Culture, Baked by Brooke, Rod Neondeng Photography, Stop and Smell the Roses at Marburg and Coast to Coast - The Golden Roast.

Congratulations to Ian and Samantha for finding their soul mate to travel through life together as husband and wife - and as mother and father to Tahlia and Fletcher.

Good afternoon All ..
Recently, my LinkedIn page accessed my Facebook and Email address books and sent out invitations to most of the addresses inviting you to join my LinkedIn Network. I was not aware of this.
This caused a lot of confusion to many of you and I apologise for that confusion and annoyance that it might have caused.
LinkedIn is a business and employment-oriented social networking service that operates via websites and mobile apps and assists people in networking with others in various industries and gaining employment with other companies.
As a result, I have now closed my LinkedIn Page and deleted any invitations.

Morning All ...

You might recall that Trish and I worked alongside Marnie and Campo on River 94.9 FM and conducted an “ on air “ Wedding Ceremony where we married Robert and Carolyn at the Peak Pub on Friday 9th May 2014.
That promotion was called “ Lights on the Hill “ and was aimed more at the truck driving fraternity. It involved couples entering a competition on River 94.9 FM and the winner awarded the prize of getting married live - on air. Selected sponsors provided the lucky couple with wedding rings, photography package, wedding breakfast, wedding cake, helicopter flight to the venue, wedding flowers, hair and make-up, etc.

Robert and Carolyn met over their CB radios while driving intrastate so it was fitting that they not only said their vows over the air but also broadcast that part of the Ceremony over the UHF CB radios in their individual trucks that we were standing alongside.

Well - that style of promotion is back on again. This time the promotion is called “ Married at First Light “ based on the recent television show “ Married at First Sight “ on Channel 9 – however, have not yet got around to actually getting married ........... and the Wedding Ceremony will be conducted “ on air “ at the Branell Homestead at North Laidley at first light ( as soon as the sun rises ) on Wednesday 21st June 2017.

On each morning during the period 8th to 11th May, Marnie and Campo will call an entrant on their Breakfast Show to discuss their relationship and why they haven’t married yet. Each couple, that they speak to on air, will be in the running to win the Wedding prize.

On May 12th, Campo and Marnie will announce the final winner from the four entrants that they have interviewed.
From there, we take over and complete the legal documentation and start their preparations for them.

We have conducted many terrific Wedding Ceremonies at Branell Homestead and Trish and I will prepare and conduct the Wedding Ceremony on that very early morning in June.

Springfield Jewellers at Orion Shopping Centre will provide the Wedding Rings to the total value of $ 5,000 and $ 1,500 to recreate the Bride’s Engagement Ring to match the Wedding Ring.

Branell Homestead at North Laidley will provide the venue and accommodation including overnight accommodation for 16 people ( in two cabins that each sleep 6 - 8 guests ) on the night of Tuesday 20th June and 28 guests of the Bride and Groom at the Wedding Reception on the night of Wednesday 21st June. Breakfast Baskets will be provided for the 28 guests on Thursday 22nd June.

White Lily Couture will provide the Wedding Gown to the value of $ 2,000 and also 10 % of any alteration costs.

Underground Hair Culture will take care of the hair and make-up for up to five people in the Bridal Party – including the Bride.

Baked by Brooke will provide the Wedding Cake to the value of $ 450 ( feeds 45 people in dessert size portions ) and Wedding Gifts for 50 people valued at $ 5.50 each.

Rod Neondeng will provide the Wedding Photography between 5.00 and 11.00 am on the day.

Stop and Smell the Roses at Marburg will provide the Wedding Flowers to the total value of $ 790 for the Bridal Party ( up to four males and four females ) and the Reception.

Coast to Coast - The Golden Roast will provide the Food and Catering for the BBQ Buffet Breakfast on Wednesday 21st June for 40 guests and 20 staff and suppliers.

River 94.9 FM will provide 40 bottles of Australian Sparkling Wine and two cartons of beer for the BBQ Buffet Breakfast.

We have had a busy year in 2016 with preparing and conducting 45 Wedding Ceremonies and 75 Funeral Services in the 12 month period.
Through those life celebrations, we have met many, many really nice people.
Many families have stayed in contact with us and have established a good relationship with us. In some cases, we feel that we are now part of their extended families.

2017 is looming as another similarly busy year for us as we already have 25 Wedding Ceremonies booked and expect a similar number of Funeral Services – as this has been the trend over the past two years.

We really do like meeting with people to share their joy in getting married or to share their sorrow when a love one has passed on.
Every life is a contribution, we just may not see how.
Everyone comes into our life for a reason and it is our responsibility to learn what they have to teach us.

In January, Trish and I celebrate 10 beautiful years together as husband and wife and as working partners. We have been able to be together 24 hours a day, seven days a week and enjoy the privilege of living together and working together.

We wish you, your families and friends a very Merry Christmas 2016 and a Happy and Prosperous New Year in 2017 with good heath, wealth, peace and happiness.

Warmest Regards ..... Peter and Trish

Friday Morning 25th September 2015 – 11.00 am

We again worked alongside our good friends Paul and Rebecca from Gatton Funerals to prepare and conduct the Funeral Service for John Geoffrey Vickers in the Chapel at the Laidley Crematorium.

John Geoffrey Vickers was born into the family of John and Emma Vickers at Chesterfield - in the Borough of Derbyshire - in the East Midlands of England on 20th June 1929 and was christened at the Chesterfield Parish Church - also known as the Church of the Crooked Spire.
He was the younger brother to his two sisters Joan and Marjorie – both deceased.
Geoff Vickers passed into eternal life at the Tabeel Lutheran Home at Laidley on Sunday 20th September 2015 at the age of 86 leaving behind his beloved wife ( Greta ), his sons and daughters and their partners (Richard and Jenny, Penny and Steven, Rosie and Russell, Philippa and  Mark, Michael and Rowena), son in law ( Colin ), 14 grandchildren.
It is worth noting that we also prepared and conducted the Graveside Funeral Service for Geoff’s daughter ( Pamela Upton ) earlier this year at the Laidley General Cemetery.

Geoff loved his family dearly and will be sadly missed by them.

Rest in Peace John Geoffrey Vickers.
