Does it mean the end of the world Leo???

Nice images!
Fantastic to Blood Moon, natural phenomenon that does not happen frequently, Lunar Eclipse which may be seen with the naked eye, this is the alignment of the stars, where the moon is right Red, lasting approximately 2 hours. ...

Ahh ok, makes sense, +Cole Thompson. Kind of hard to completely avoid other's images nowadays. Plus, I figured you'd probably do a blog post if you ever decided to come out of photographic celibacy :-)

I have met hundreds of survivors through my portfolio and I am always surprised to see how old, healthy and alive they are! I expected the physical toll of being interned to have shorten their life or created poor health, but it has not. I also expected the mental hardships to create embittered and angry people, but they were not.

Have you read Frankel?

That's a good post Cole. As an educator, you know the importance of necessity in learning. I tend to agree with this and would add that my times of creative lulls or periods of feeling unenthusiastic about my work also coincide with times when I'm relying on things I already know and am not pushing myself to do the things I don't. To wit, trying to make something work with the wrong tools for the job rather that doing the hard work to learn the skills needed to finish the image as I imagined it. Wonderful post. I really enjoyed this. Appreciate the before and after images as well.

Great share +Cole Thompson - absolutely essential. The "conventions" of composition exist because of our sense of vision (the way our brains "see"), but any interesting image will not contain only one graphic element. Thus balance and harmony (or imbalance and disharmony, depending on the intended message by the visual artist!) are of overriding importance in effective visual communication, more so than any rules of composition could ever be.

To answer the jiggly question, sharing images and listening carefully to the response of other (great) photographers will inform (but not dominate) your own personal vision. That is the true 'art' of our craft.

Classic Images in Black and White
Introduction

I am often asked, “Why black and white?” I think it’s because I grew up in a black-and-white world.

Television, movies and the news were all in black and white. My heroes were in black and white and even the nation was segregated into black and white.

Perhaps my images are an extension of the world in which I grew up.

Been going there 20 years! I've always been completely satisfied and have never had a problem with about 10 repairs over the years (5 kids). I just got my truck back last week, and they did another great job. My last child is now out of the house, I may not be seeing them much anymore!
