G*d save me from the preening, pompous Americans who call Zinque and its employees pompous. Zinque is a delightful spot, serving perfectly rendered espresso drinks, as well as well-chosen wines, at reasonable prices. By reasonable, I mean not out of line with the expensive Abbot Kinney neighborhood, and considering that they have a daily happy hour. They also have full wi-fi, and make no complaints about it being used without limit. People work her for hours. They do have some very reasonable rules about leaving certain tables available for those having meals, and putting away laptops come evening time. The menu is rustic. Get over it. It is what it is. Everything is nicely done, and good quality. It's just not the work of a fully realized kitchen, with a grill, and long braised items. It's rustic French cafe fare, as done in what I presume is a nearly non-existent kitchen. As for those claiming it's only used by locals because of its location...? Wha...huh? It's a favorite of many. As to the one who criticized the manager's accent, well...maybe it's best that person has chosen never to come back. He/she won't be missed.

I don't want people to ever find out about this place so I'm hesitating to write a review :) Wonderful little wine bar - good eats, wonderful ambiance, boccie ball!

The owner wants to feel like God, so he hires simple minded servers (I have served tables in New York & Chicago) consistently! They can only handle 1 task at a time.. & I mean, deliver water, come back take drink order, THEN take food order... ONE table at a time. To make it worse, their system to pay out, is always having problems, which is not the servers fault... people in the neighbourhood only go there because the location & outside seating. Only reason I certainly go... (for quick meetings & drinks (;) PS. proper over priced on the drinks, even for Abbott Kinney.

Nice beer and wine bar with good food. Gets very crowded with a very Venice style crowd, obviously. Their beer selection is also diverse and unique which changes regularly. Make sure to try something you haven't had before, before it is gone.

When it first opened went on a lark....to check it out ordered / attempted...something simple...bottom line over priced fake pompous person actually made eye contact and the accent he tossed around truly a disappointment ....but ok....what the heck went in a couple of times after....and sorry I didn't set myself.on fire in away to get a waiter to take my order....my impression the snobby wannabe patrons can have the place I will never set foot in it again....and i tell people it's the same over priced stuffy place you would expect....to see.....so go somewhere else...

Came here on a Saturday, late afternoon, with a couple of friends and really enjoyed it. We sat on the patio to sip on some drinks and eat some food. I had a margarita, which was refreshing on this sunny day, and then switched over to red wine as the sun went down. We ordered the deviled eggs, tuna tartine, charcuterie plate, and castelvetrano olives. The olives were simple but really buttery and delicious. The charcuterie plate was somewhat limited in variety but quite tasty, and came with two types of mustard on the side. The paté, in particular, really stood out here. The deviled eggs were nice and spicy and had potato chips, pickled cucumber, and dill on top. Lots of interesting flavors and textures that I thought worked really nicely together - my friend said this is the only place he'll order deviled eggs! The ahi tuna tartine was crunchy and toasted and not at all soggy from the pesto on top. The saltiness of the potato chips went nicely with the creaminess of the pesto and created a winning dish. I'd love to come back here next time I'm in town and try more things!
