Over the past few years, the Pretrial Justice Institute has spent hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of taxpayer dollars and grants trying to discredit and eliminate the commercial bail industry. Their strategy has been pretty simple. Travel the country and educate judges and legislators… Read more

Another public opinion survey...and once again, the same results.

Check out the latest results from our National online public opinion poll and see how the public is overwhelmingly against FREE release. It is time for our state and local leaders to start paying attention to what the public truly wants as it pertains to the criminal justice system.

In another attempt to gauge the public’s opinion of the ongoing discussion around bail reform, we thought we would expand our last survey’s reach from just Texas to the entire country. In order to maintain an “apple to apple” comparison between the two surveys, we… Read more

But wait...how can the jails be crowded in Kentucky? They don't have bail bondsmen...they utilize the Utopian model of public sector pretrial release touted by the Pretrial Justice Institute. Arrests are up, probation and parole violations are up and pretrial releases are down. The perfect overcrowding storm and yet no bail agents to blame. What will they do? It is time to stop believing the lies and start looking at the facts. Public sector pretrial programs are crowding our jails and making our communities less safe. It is time to stop" huggin the thugs" and put common sense and accountability back in the system. #pretrialtruth

The director of Metro Corrections says he made the decision Monday to move inmates to the old jail at the top of the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Check out the new blog post from AIA's President and CEO, Brian Nairin, on a disingenuous narrative that reveals the true colors of the bail reform movement.

BEHIND THE PAPER WITH BRIAN NAIRIN: Last week an article on the subject of charitable bail funds was published by The Marshall Project, a non-profit criminal justice media outlet. As I read the article expecting the same anti bail rhetoric that usually flows from supporters… Read more

A good editorial on why the bail reform movement is missing the mark. Once again, when asked about whether the bail system needs to be changes, the public OVERWHELMINGLY always votes NO! In the poll attached to this article, 92% of respondents think the current bail system works best.
