I'm a feature writer for the Los Angeles Times sports section, covering a variety of topics from the Olympics to golf to the business of college sports.
Introduction

In addition to sports, I love music and play bass in a band, Jed's Dead, on the local club circuit in LA (shout out to Cinema Bar). You can hear us on public radio occasionally and we have a new album, Blacktop Honeymoon, coming out soon.

Bragging rights
I have written two nonfiction books -- "Conquest" and "Yesterday and Today" -- and have published short fiction in Surfer magazine, Southern California Anthology, the Black River Review, etc. My journalism work has been included in the Best American Sports Writing and won numerous awards, including the APSE's Best Enterprise.
