The Peculiar Pretzelmen are playing a show this Thursday out at the Fifty in West Salem. These guys are a little bit indescribable to me as, for me they don't fit into a typical genre of music, look them up and listen to them for yourselves. I'd like to say old folk Americana, mixed with punk attitude, mixed with a heavy spooky eastern European sound and all in a nice dressed package you might imagine to see on an old riverboat 150 years ago. I've heard Tom Waits mentioned, although Kevin may refute that comparison.
The show is free, costumes are encouraged, and I know Fawn has been slaving away to make the Fifty ready with all hallows drink specials and decor. You really don't want to miss this!

Show starts at 9pm, get there early!

So I'm looking for a small board game or more in depth card game for Fawn and I to take with us when we are out and about.  Wouldn't mind some suggestions from gaming friends.  Looking at some internet lists these are some I have come up with: Stone Age, Pandemic, Dominion.  I'd really prefer something card based for portability.  No magic collectible card games, and not a lot of pieces to lose.

Water falling from foeders

Right now this big wooden barrel isn't even holding water, but soon it'll be filled with delicious sour beer. It's one of our 32 new foeders that we've been rehydrating over the last few months.

The way it works is this: grab a foeder, then pump it full of water (which we recycle) until the wood swells and the leaks plug up. At that point, it's ready to hold and age beer.

This one's probably got another week of hydrating to go. Soon it'll hold about 3,500 gallons of delicious, aging, soon-to-be sour brew. #whoa #newbelgium #sourbeer #stayhydrated #LaFolie #LeTerroir

The Season Of The Photographer

I seem to go into a landscape lull during the summer months, the light is generally too harsh and the colours can be too vibrant with cloudless skies making the sky too uniform and characterless.

I know though in only a few weeks that will slowly start to change, the days will become shorter, the colours and hues of the land will change from vibrant greens to deep reds and golds. Early morning mist will lap at my feet as I stand in a field awaiting the sun to rise just enough to give that light that becomes golden.

This is my season, while others lament the loss of summer, I rejoice in the arrival of autumn.

Nearly 100 UPS Stores in the US will let you use its 3D printers:
UPS' experiment with in-store 3D printers apparently went off without a hitch -- the shipping service has expanded the availability of 3D printing

Introduction
My life pretty much consists of spending time with my kids and my girlfriend, playing music, and brewing as much good BEER as I can!

I have a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science and minor in Fish and Wildlife, but job prospects have been slim.  Due to that, I have decided to start a brewery with a friend of mine.  The brewery is called Last Stand Brewing Company.

I am also a US Army Veteran, and proud of my time in in the Army and living in the Republic of Panama.
