Balsamic Baked Onions, Red Wine Sauce, Sauteed Oyster Mushrooms, Arugula
Simple dinner last night. Flat Iron steak doesn't (imho) need much in the way of spicing, salt & pepper, let the flavour of a great cut of steak speak for itself.
Baby onions from the market, topped and tailed, a dab of butter, 425F oven for about 1/2 hour. Drizzled with balsamic vinegar the last 5 - 10 minutes. Heavenly!!!
Oyster mushrooms, sauteed until golden, so yummy!!!
A cup of beef stock from the freezer, cup of red wine, sprigs of fresh thyme and a clove of garlic. Reduced to a scant 1/2 cup, a teaspoon of cold butter whisked in at the very end. Salt and pepper to taste.
