Nice location. The castle is well preserved and there is a lot of information about the castle available. The view from the top is marvelous. The price seems fair (15 Euros) for the whole information and the attractions. There is a petting zoo inside the area. And a lot of interesting buildings, that tell you the life of the "normal" population. Definetely worth a look.

Great experience, especially if you have kids. We could of filled almost a whole day with activities here. You probably go for the castle but there is so much more. There are all kinds of farm animals, it is great to walk around the village, and it has one of the best playgrounds I've ever seen. They have a zipping, hammock, swings, and even an actual sand digger. Then you have the historical Dirty Nellys Pub if you get thirsty. We were there for over three hours, and we still did not do it all.

Great experience for myself and my girlfriend. We thoroughly enjoyed the self guided tour of the castle and the history of the folk park. We will come back again in summer when it's a bit warmer. All in all a great place to visit if your in the area with a few hours to spare.

Seeing the architecture of the castle itself was cool to see. That was the only thing that I really enjoyed, besides seeing the garden. I was somewhat excited to see the animals, until I came across the Irish Wolfhound. This poor animal was caged up in a space much smaller than any of the other animals in the location. Considering this dog towers over my Labrador I have at home, who has a full house and a yard to roam around, I think it is just sad and inhumane for an animal that size to be living or even staying in that small of a space for a day. I took one look at the Wolfhound and I felt complete sadness. I walked further to see other animals, and came across a pony that was rubbing up against a fence to scratch itself. As it was doing that, hair was falling out all over the ground. The poor thing obviously needs to be brushed. Someone seriously needs to give the animals some proper care and the space that they need and deserve to live. Beyond disappointed, and definitely not worth the money.

The old village, the castle, the actor reenacting various parts of the daily life of the villagers. They was by far my favorite stop outside of Dublin during my two week tour! We also opted to have dinner inside the castle and had a blast! Strongly recommend both visiting and attending the dinner (advance reservations require for the dinner) to anyone 13 or older!
