Elizabeth--It may that the way you are watering it needs adjusting; Aralias love a good soak and then allowed to dry out enough so the top of the soil feels dry before watering again. If you have it right in front of a window so that the lower leaves are not receiving much light, that may be a problem too.  Please check the blog instructions again and if you have any more questions,  ask again.  Hope it gets on track soon. They recovery very easily.  Thank you for asking!

It took about 5-6 years to reach that size. It started out at about a foot tall (30cm).  It's stayed about that size since then.  The amazing thing about aralias is that they can be maintained in a larger pot for a very long time. About every 5 years I prune the roots a little and change some of the potting soil. It still grows but slowly. It can also be pruned when it gets too wide for its space.
