HTML (as opposed to XHTML) tags are supposed to be case insensitive, but on at least one blog I follow, if tags are not opened and closed with the same case, Feedly does not respect the closing tag. A sample entry from that blog is linked here: it is broken in Feedly (a closing <b> tag is not respected in Feedly's rendering) while it does render correctly in its own browser window.
Points, Miles, and Martinis wrote about Korean Air’s Houston flight and how new routes are often an opportunity for award booking. Korean is a partner of Delta Skymiles (in the loosest sense of the term). But there are many misconceptions about booking Korean Air space using Delta miles, so I thought I’d try to clear …

Okay, my "Family" Circle has just one member at the moment: my wife Catherine (who isn't actually on Google+, just added via her email address). And yet Google somehow knows to suggest my mother-in-law, my father-in-law, my mother, and my father (all of whom, like Catherine, are only email contacts)—and no one else—as potential members. That is amazing, and creepy.

I think the way Google tracks our words to judge whether they are"important" or not via email is a little creepy. And that makes me worried about Google+ -- what else do "they" know about us?

Google+ friends! er, followers! er, circle-mates! Is it just me or is there no way to get links, etc., into Google+ without manually cutting and pasting? I may be scarce on here until that's fixed.

In the meantime, here are two things for you to read. The short one is my review of David Brooks's The Social Animal, linked below.

The long one is Ian Morgan Cron's memoir ("of sorts") Jesus, My Father, the CIA, and Me. If there is a better summer read, I can't imagine what it is. Funny and deeply moving. Buy it, I urge you. And then share it with anyone you love. It is, in fact, everything that Brooks's story falls short of being.

If you see the +1 around the web (I think mashable has them up on their articles) you can add things that way

The Bach-Busoni Chaconne in dm is my summer piano project. I'm not sure whether it's good Bach, but it's definitely very good Busoni. :)

I never liked the idea of Busoni's making the harmonies explicit, as I always thought that defeated the purpose of the pieces - so preferred Brahms' left-handed version. Never tried playing either though, I think that'd be fun....

If I were Yammer I'd be pretty bummed about Google+.

Well, they sound equally pathetic to me.

The difference is, I actually use Facebook. I've never found a use for Twitter, because I'm not trying to network nor am I looking for a soapbox. And now, three months in, I've found little use for Google+ either, for much the same reasons.
