Let's get this straight: AIG execs got bailout bonuses, but pensioners get cuts
As we passed the fifth anniversary of the peak of the financial crisis this fall, the giant insurance company AIG was prominently featured in the retrospectives. AIG had issued hundreds of billions of dollars of credit default swaps (CDS) on subprime mortgage backed securities. When these mortgage-backed securities failed en masse, AIG didn’t have the money to back them up.

While AFDC was definitely in need of modernization and reform, TANF is an even more poorly designed scheme

Another mouthpiece for leftist propaganda, and apologist for Chavismo's authoritarian eradication for peace and democracy. Nicolás Maduro is starving the Venezuelan people with extreme import controls, and CEPR continues to ignore conventional economic theory in order to blame fictitious U.S. intervention by using skewed data and sources. This is not a credible think tank that should be taken seriously. And guess what? The U.S. taxpayer is funding this type of nonsense since all the large U.S. unions are their donors (SEIU, United Steelworkers, American Federation of Government Employees, National Education Association, etc.).
