This whole model-driven operations thing is getting awesome. By capturing operations as open source code on a cloud-neutral model, we can level up entire industries by enabling them to collaborate on shared application ops.

Interesting to read Dawkins on the topic. I currently have Raghunathan's book checked out of the library.

Oh!!! someone said to me yesterday, "didn't you have a birthday recently"

Now I realize they might have seen my birthday on some social media site. I don't usually fill in my real birthday on those sites, for privacy reasons. So, yes, today, May 1 is my fake birthday. Thanks for the birthday wishes.

I managed to mess up posting this link yesterday, in spectacular fashion. Sorry for the fumbled PSA!

Nonetheless, if you want the world's fastest OpenStack, this is the webinar to watch today. It's about replacing all the machine virtualization in OpenStack with pure containers, which means for Linux workloads you get amazing density, performance, i/o and latency improvements.

LXD will sit nicely alongside KVM so you can of course have the best of both worlds - VMs for stuff that needs a non-Linux guest, and CMs ("container machines") for stuff on Linux you want to go really really fast and dense.
