Please help, #caturday
friends! This is our formerly #feral #foster #cat
Sissi. Please help us find her a loving #foreverhome
! Here is her story.
We heard scratching outside our back door in Oklahoma, and we thought it was a wild animal, until one day we were collecting our long-neglected recycling pile (picture 15 huge black bags filled with recycling bottles, cans and paper), preparing to drive it to the nearest recycling center an hour away. (No curbside recycling in rural Oklahoma!)
All of a sudden, the little stray tabby #cat
we sometimes saw around the neighborhood sprinted off into the distance, through our yard and around the corner. And when we removed one more black bag from the pile, there was a little furry patch. No ears, no paws - all we saw was #fur
. Turns out, there were three little kitten-boys the size of hamsters, who could barely walk.
We brought the three #kittens
inside, and we took care of them, had them neutered, handled them, and #cuddled
them until they loved humans, and were ready for forever homes. They were adopted at the local rescue within a week.
But then there is the story of Sissi, their mom. She was very #feral
. We managed to trap her, after she did nothing but cry for her babies through the window. Once we adopted them out, we started the long process of getting Sissi to trust us.
To make a long story short, we moved Sissi with us to Pennsylvania, and here we have taken in two more #stray #cats
, and suddenly that makes 5. We need to adopt Sissi and the two new guys out to loving homes before we move to Germany in the near future. We will keep our two #adopted
cats, but the other three are simply too many to move.
Sissi is #loving
, and #cute
, but she still doesn't trust us to pick her up, and though she spends time with us, and adores our tomcat Toblerone, she is still wary of us trying to put her on our laps.
If you know anyone who is a true cat lover who wants to #adopt
a #pet #companion
for life, and is willing to be patient and continue to teach Sissi to love humans, too, we would love to be in touch :)
Thank you friends! In the meantime, Sissi is happy, rolling around on her back, running up against our golden retriever, or sitting in the sunshine :)
