Perfectly said.

~ Christianity as a Failed Religion ~ [ExChristian.net] :: [Excerpt:] People notice and wonder why Christians of the literal Bible-believing kind are so angry. [.] There are serious problems for a person with Christianity as a framework for living in the modern world. [.] The thing is that Christianity is not just a cognitive set of beliefs. It is a worldview that completely colors reality. It works on a deep level of the mind through metaphors, images, and tacit assumptions. The Christian worldview is a closed, irrational system which is taught to small children who can’t and don’t question. It is transmitted like a virus down through generations and supported in the larger culture. [More at the link.] :: #atheism

Try making an elephant toothpaste! All you need is hydrogen peroxide, liquid dishwasher and potassium iodide

Reaction: 2 H2O2 (aq) → 2 H2O (l) + O2 (g)

Please help, #caturday friends! This is our formerly #feral #foster #cat Sissi. Please help us find her a loving #foreverhome! Here is her story.

We heard scratching outside our back door in Oklahoma, and we thought it was a wild animal, until one day we were collecting our long-neglected recycling pile (picture 15 huge black bags filled with recycling bottles, cans and paper), preparing to drive it to the nearest recycling center an hour away. (No curbside recycling in rural Oklahoma!)

All of a sudden, the little stray tabby #cat we sometimes saw around the neighborhood sprinted off into the distance, through our yard and around the corner. And when we removed one more black bag from the pile, there was a little furry patch. No ears, no paws - all we saw was #fur. Turns out, there were three little kitten-boys the size of hamsters, who could barely walk.

We brought the three #kittens inside, and we took care of them, had them neutered, handled them, and #cuddled them until they loved humans, and were ready for forever homes. They were adopted at the local rescue within a week.

But then there is the story of Sissi, their mom. She was very #feral. We managed to trap her, after she did nothing but cry for her babies through the window. Once we adopted them out, we started the long process of getting Sissi to trust us.

To make a long story short, we moved Sissi with us to Pennsylvania, and here we have taken in two more #stray #cats, and suddenly that makes 5. We need to adopt Sissi and the two new guys out to loving homes before we move to Germany in the near future. We will keep our two #adopted cats, but the other three are simply too many to move.

Sissi is #loving, #sweet, and #cute, but she still doesn't trust us to pick her up, and though she spends time with us, and adores our tomcat Toblerone, she is still wary of us trying to put her on our laps.

If you know anyone who is a true cat lover who wants to #adopt a #pet #companion for life, and is willing to be patient and continue to teach Sissi to love humans, too, we would love to be in touch :)

Thank you friends! In the meantime, Sissi is happy, rolling around on her back, running up against our golden retriever, or sitting in the sunshine :)

#Dogs do it , why don't we ?!
According to the Dogs Trust, Lily’s eyes were removed as a puppy because of a condition called entropion, which means her eye lashes grew into her eyeballs and damaged them. Maddison began leading her dog friend and steering the way.
It’s amazing how Maddison has evolved into the perfect #guide #dog for her best #friend. #Humans can learn a lot from their pets.
