Very cool old school ambience. Love theIr cocktails. Oxtail and foie gras terrine and roasted bone marrow were delicious. Black Label burger was much smaller than the one I saw on Internet. Burger was good but not surprising. Guess I had too much expectation. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Saturday night on Macdougal St. is filled with party atmosphere. We wanted to wind down from our Broadway theater night so when we wandered into the Minetta Tavern, we were pleased. We enjoyed a relaxing late night meal and drink, tucked away from the frenzied street outside. Thanks to Greg our server, new to Minetta but a true professional and an asset. Thanks to the lovely young woman at the hostess station. She helped clarify the story behind the picture of Sophia Loren and Jane Mansfield taken at the Minetta Tavern.

Excellent food and amazing burgers. However, every time I come here the price of the burger increases by about 10%.

Very good if you fancy a good basic burger with top quality meat. One of the only place where you actually have a medium-rare cooked meat when you ask for it (instead of a well-done like on most of places in America)

Everything is delicious, especially their specialty burgers. The only problem is getting a reservation and elbow room... and a tad bit pricey. But that is how it goes in NYC, all great food comes in hard to find reservation and tiny dinning spaces.

Food was amazing and service was great. Interior was great too. French dip was best i ever had and they only serve it for lunch so make sure you go in for lunch for some amazing jus with french dip sandwich.

They can't cook meat correctly. Any place that has to explain that their "medium is really rare" should be avoided. I ordered their supposedly famous burger medium- well. I got it raw/rare. the waitress then claimed that it's their medium. which is still not what I ordered. it wasn't even cooked consistantly, I ate part that was almost medium , then found and off center portion progressively more undercooked until I hit about a quarter of the burger completely raw. screwing up a burger that badly is pretty hard to do

Food: - Smoked Salmon app - pretty good - Black Label Burger - think juicy burger, nicely seared on the outside and cooked as ordered - you ask for medium, you actually get medium. Nice flavor, served with caramelized onions, tomato, bibb lettuce, on a sesame bun. A sweet pickled spear and a large portion of nicely fried french fries on the side. - Trout al meuniere - 2 filets, with very nicely crisped skins and soft meat, served atop lemon butter sauce which was is very rich (maybe I'd ask for it on the side if I got it again next time), and super light and crunch croutons. - Spinach side - sauteed with oil, garlic salt. Nicely done. Service: good
