Nature: Further Progress in Three-dimensional Structure of Piezo1 Ion Channel and Its gating Mechanism Analysis

This study reveals the high-resolution, three-dimensional structure of the mechanically gated Piezo1 ion channels in mammals and their key functional sites participated in the mechanical force sensing and delivery, and then proposes a fine mechanism, similar with the lever principle, for the mechanical gating of the Piezo channel.

According to a recent article from Case Western Reserve University researchers published on Nature Communications, scientists found that changes in the DNA enhancer region of the oncogene affect the growth of colorectal cancer.
