I think rakuten is throttling...

Recently switched from IIJ fiber to Kamome (seems to use rakuten as a backbone provider) and suddenly my scp's from european server are like 10kb/s.

I didn't cancel IIJ yet so just switched the pppoe config to IIJ and I'm getting the usual few megs per second.

Smells like a) throttling b) bandwidth problems at peering points.

Tested with 2 targets in the same DC. I think they're pretty much down-throttled my server :(

Tried with speedtest to amsterdam, both IIJ and Kamome gave about the same speeds.

So... exactly how much is the data exports delayed?

I saw scan drones hang at 90m/each but at least for the last 40 minutes, the export is still at 98M+. Elasticsearch is good for making nice histograms of it but... I hate stale data :(

As far as I can tell, the export data is accurate with the game client at the time of the export time stamp in most cases. Admittedly, I haven't watched very closely to confirm this, but haven't noticed any large discrepancies during casual game play / spread-sheeting. I do know there have been rare cases where a specific item or resource fails to update over a substantial period of time. A month or so ago, elite forces stopped updating it's price for about a day. Maybe that's the case here?

On a side note, I'd be really interested to see the visualization you're creating with the data. I prefer charts and graphs over raw numbers, but lack the skill to create them myself.

Holy shit Ubuntu 12.04 LTS -> 14.04 LTS dist-upgrade even kept the kernel-tainting spl/zfs modules o.O

This has come long way since I tried dist-upgrade.

This is awesome. I was about to buy the plugins a little time ago but I won't mind them being free too :)

Google has dropped the price of the Nik Collection, a suite of seven desktop plug-ins aimed at advanced photographers, from $149 to nothing. The Nik Collection first came under Google's stewardship...

You're just missing a resource scan screenshot for what might be buried in all that snow =P

Invested in some WeMo wireless switches which will also rat out the energy usage... This is my fridge, seems to be doing pretty well?

Really expensive place. 330ml beer is 980JP and AFTER that they hit you with a tax. Reasonable German selection though. Oh and I forgot about the table charge, 300 JPY per person. They also didn't mention there's going to be otoshi, so we were too late to say no. An extra hidden charge again.

Great craft beers, great food. Excellent atmosphere. Impossible to enter with a big group without a reservation made at least a few days beforehand.

Excellent craft beer, beautiful and tasty Chicago style pizza, but you have to reserve a few days beforehand. This kind of kills extempore dining :/
