Well, iOS 10 is out and that means Xcode 8 is out, and that means new weird code signing errors.

I've documented the steps for successful command-line builds for Cordova-iOS apps with Xcode 8 here: https://dpogue.ca/articles/cordova-xcode8.html

If you've been waiting for Uru and the Plasma engine running natively on Linux or Mac, progress is being made but it's very slow going.

I wrote a blog post about the project and some of the challenges it faces.

Made it to 10km Beach along the East Canyon Trail in Golden Ears. The trail was in pretty excellent condition thanks to the recent work by the Ridge Meadows Outdoor Club.

Round trip was 22.4km although we're all confused about where those extra 2km came from. Bit of a long hike, and about 5km less would have been ideal.

I've been following the development of the HTML5 menu tag for a while now, and I've found it to be one of the largely ignored parts of the HTML5 spec. Unfortunately a lot of the information about HTML5 menus is for an older version of the spec.

Firefox has supported the older version of the spec for a while, but recently there's been some work in Chrome to start supporting the current spec (albeit behind a flag). I thought it might be helpful to write about how to make pure-HTML context menus and what the current support looks like in browsers.

Just published a Cordova plugin for automatic support of WebP images in iOS.

WebP is a great way to cut down on your app bundle size, and reduce bandwidth of images requested over the network.
