So, Google introduct 'verbatim search': http://insidesearch.blogspot.com/2011/11/search-using-your-terms-verbatim.html
It is a real shame it doesn't go far enough.
This morning I discovered the rather amazing 'question comma' which is a punctuation symbol combining the questionmark and the comma. I searched for a little more information with the search phrase ["question comma"].
Unfortunately this matched "question, comma", "question. Comma", "question: comma" and a lot more besides; all of which significantly change the meaning of the text.
Thinking that verbatim search might be the answer, I tried again with this fresh, new tool and it made no difference. It seems that punctuation, something that alters the meaning of text wildly, is not considered.
Pfft; thanks Google.
